Got one elected president, for starters.

2013-04-28 02:05:10 AM
I never understood why people thought he was racist.

Bush JR was a lot of things (a drunk, a moron, a fake accent guy), but racist wasn't one of them.

More than ANY OTHER PRESIDENT???

Boy, modern education has sure deteriorated in the last 50 years.

NOTE: that's "Fringe" as in the popular show about visiting alternate realities. It wasn't really clear in the headline.

/another story about on Africa. His only lasting accomplishment... was completely unrelated to the modern GOP platform. GO FIGURE.

Yeah, I don't think it was that he didn't care about black people.  He just didn't care about ANY people.

I never thought he was racist.  He's probably one of the nicest, most likable Presidents we've ever had.  He just happened to be a moron that allowed psychopaths to run his Administration.

This and that.  Only the people he let die in New Orleans thought he was racist.  But as Alphax said, it wasn't because he was racist.  It was because he was clueless and incompetent.

No no, Bush did more for blacks then Truman, Johnson, Lincoln, ANY PRESIDENT, even REAGAN.  REAGAN.

If just through his administrations work on Aids in Africa,  I would bet that it's close.  I'm liberal as hell,  but he certainly did more for the aids crisis in africa than any other president has.

This.  This this this.

Also, he didn't have much of an accent when he was running for governor in Texas.  A whole lot of his "dumb" act is just that, an act.

He didn't do a damn thing for African Americans.  Those blacks are not the same as the ones in Africa.

Indeed, and I wish more liberal media members would follow the shining example of Ellen Ratner by being willing to give praise to politicians on the other side of the aisle when they deserve.

This proves Bush true calling was to be President of an AIDS prevention foundation. He must have only hear the first part of his true title

But remember, since News Busters' goal is to expose and combat liberal media bias, and she's a liberal in the media, then this can't possibly be true.

Look, everyone gives him credit for what he did with AIDS in Africa. Everyone, even a sanctimonious douchebag like Bono recognized it. But he was not president of an African nation. The damage he caused to the country that elected him its chief executive (and by extension most of the rest of the world) far outweighs the good he did in a single continent on a single issue.

Might have something to do with him snickering from his helicopter flying over a flooded New Orleans while everyone below was slowly starving to death on their rooftops.

Yeah I don't think he was a bad guy, just a guy who was never cut out to be President.

I could see him as Vice President of a paper mill in West Virginia. The sort of boss that would throw great employee barbecues. He missed his calling.

Sort of like the robber deserves credit for the heist; the camera footage and that dyepack exploding shouldn't reduce that gloried moment..

unless you meant a "mission accomplished" sort of victory...

My family had MSNBC on yesterday in mid day, and they were discussing the George W. Bush library opening.  And some guy on there talked about how Bush kept us safe for 7 years after 9/11, and how the Bush Tax Cuts provided years of job growth, even today.  Yeah, I was screaming at the TV for a bit, after those two bald faced lies.

"said US cuts in funding for condoms and an emphasis on promoting abstinence had contributed to a shortage of condoms in Uganda, one of the few African countries which has succeeded in reducing its infection rate. "
"Meanwhile, religious groups that oppose condom use are receiving an increased share of funding, "

and yah, they dont actually think that they are lying.
It would be interesting to see an fMRI of these people when they repeat this bit of history.
It would also be interesting to see their other delusions tested.

/Imagine a world when newscasters were attached to a real time lie detector, and everyone got to see whether the news was reporting the truth or not
/I guess there would only be a need for one news channel in that case.

I dunno.. seems there's some disagreement about whether or not the no condoms rule completely cancelled out the effectiveness of the funding.

no
no there is not

A million addition Aids/HIV+ patients (wild ass guess) can not be cancelled out by "additional funding."
1) Say the net is close to breakeven. HOW THE FARK is he the best pres ever by that measure?
