Cornelius Dribble: In 2007 Dutschke was the Republican candidate for the Mississippi House of Representatives, 16th District. He lost by over 2,000 votes, which raises the question: how bad a politician do you have to be to run as a Republican in Mississippi and lose?

Well, the guy's been in office since 1985, and it's never easy to oust an incumbent, especially since MS legislature election cycles are on odd years, not combined with big national ones. Plus Tupelo is about 1/3 black (and very poor), maybe that keeps pushing him over the edge.

I wouldn't want to be in anyone's shoes there.

Somaticasual: Funny how they didn't plaster this guy's name all over the media like the crazy fella. It does make his lawyer's countersuits that much easier, though.

Front page of the NY Times dot com, right now: "J. Everett Dutschke was taken into custody" as well as "charges were dropped against another man". So not understanding what the fark your point is.

He didn't attract much money and his rants against the Democratic candidate Holland were not understandable. In all seriousness, as alleged, Dutschke attempted to kill President Obama with a biological weapon. It's an assassination attempt and if convicted (Although the Fark Independents will not agree) he needs to spend the rest of his life in prison, just like John Hinckley.

J. Everett Dutschke, House District 16: Took off on incumbent Democrat Steve Holland, "who hasn't had an opponent in 20 years." Dutschke promised to work hard for the people and take responsiblity, instead of pointing fingers and laying the blame elsewhere. He supports strong laws and actions against illegal immigrants, saying the issue isn't just one of economic development but of security. "It's not a federal issue; it's at our back door." He called his opponent's stand "No Alien Left Behind." Family, said Dutschke, begins with marriage. "Writing a check every month does not make you a dad." He claimed, "Steve Holland is addicted to taxation." And, of the failed beef processing plant supported by Holland, said "Mr. Holland can we have our money back?"

I can see why Obama's investigators arrested this guy. Sounds like the whole thing was a Chicago operation to frame this guy for the purpose of associating his anti-amnesty comments with the anti-amnesty people. Timing is everything.

Of course you'd want to have a false framing at the beginning to conceal the real framing at the end. How clever would that be?

"Sunil" was front-page news on every single newspaper the second they had that lead in the boston bombings, and the elvis impersonator had a name within the same basic amount of time. But, they gave this guy like 8 hours of relative anonymity before plastering it (IE, your NY times article).
