Are my husband and I the only people who believe this show is crap?! It is practically shoved down your throat here in Oklahoma. And all the guys trying to look like them and act like them is really a turn off.

I've never seen it but even if I did I wouldn't be a good judge of its quality because I think all reality shows are bullshiat. I tried to watch Face/off because I'm in filmmaking but even that had to devolve into staged dramatic tripe.

So you're not helping, White House.

B-b-but its better than other reality shows...And a kick to the nuts is better than having toenails ripped out.A root canal is better than a boil on your sphincter.Pepper spray in my eyes beats chewing chocolates I found in the kitty litter box.etc, etc

Am I the only one who was disappointed that this wasn't an adaptation of Don Rosa's "The Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck"?

Like that'll stop FOXNews from wasting an entire week trying to spin this into a "Obama makes fun of common Southerners" fauxrage.

Anyone who calls this a reality show must be high when they watch it.  It's obviously scripted.  Half the episodes just reuse old sitcom tropes.

That being said, hey, I really enjoy it, jack.  It's like a live action King of the Hill

Care to make a wager on that?

At least these guys actually produce something.  If I were the president (of either party) I'd have said "enjoy this event -- I'm not going" sometime around the time when the so-called journalists invited Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan or a dog.

Say hi to Mister Tony for me.

I love these guys and I am "a liberal scum". They are educated, funny, and they made their millions by inventing a damn duck call. You can't fault them for that.

and as long as they bring Uncle Si with them to the Dinner, it should be one hell of a party :P

Pro Tip:  They aren't acting.

I'm so glad I get all my entertainment from online sources. This show sounds terrible. I hope I never see it, even by accident.

the show isn't for everyone and the humor is very deadpan and dry. My boyfriend likes it, but i just can't identify with it. Maybe because he grew up in a rural setting and i did not.

stop killing ducks.

Pro Tip:  They themselves have even admitted that they are acting and that it is "scripted reality".  And I cant stand the show.  Reminds me of a bunch of Larry The Cable Guys making southerners believe what the shtick they are putting on. It does portray some wholesome family values which is why I believe most like it.

It's a comedy show, get a grip people.

BIG difference: The duck guys are EDUCATED. They CHOOSE to live they way they do and from all appearances they are very happy, happy, happy!

Why? they're delicious.

The founder of Duck Commander was a first string quarterback ahead of Terry Bradshaw at LSU. He opted for business instead of football, despite offers from NFL teams. He's been making duck calls for 25 years and is worth $5 million.

I'm surprised how many people don't get Duck Dynasty.  The joke is that they know that you know that they're serving you their redneckitude with a side of irony.  When you accept that...  well, when I accepted that, I found it quite entertaining.

/I tend to think of it like a partial-improv series kinda like a Christopher Guest movie

That's every reality show. When are people going to realize this? Or don't they care?

In related news,   I heard Morrissey is boycotting the correspondents dinner.

He also has a Masters in Education and was a teacher before he started making duck calls full-time.

Wow, really? That's the line of thinking of people who watch reality TV, they just don't give a shiat that it's all fake? Glad I just mostly watch movies.

I am in no way ashamed to shout out that I adore them.  All of them!  I'd love nothing more than to spend a day with them, but only if they are I character.
But, I am 1/2 redneck, sooooo...
