There, of course, isn't anything remotely racist about that portrayal of the Japanese...

Don't get me wrong, they committed horrible atrocities both Germany and Japan (i.e. concentration camps  and the rape of Nanking).  But we need to look in the mirror more about our actions as well (firebombing of Dresden, Japanese interment camps).  Ours were not of the same scale, but it was a sad chapter indeed that we let our fear get the better of us.  Sadly, the war on terror has done some of the same things.  Happily, we openly debate and discuss and try to learn from our lessons, even though we don't always succeed.
