I wonder if this is retaliation for his little rant this year?

Why won't this show just die already?

Jesus is his agent.

I think Jesus will be quite upset about losing his 10%...

Enjoy your trip to obscurity, Angus!

(He'll be broke within a year. The church will scam him out of most of his money, and then he'll waste whatever's left on drugs)

Now just get rid of the other two guys, replace all the writers, hire some new actors, and you might have a good show on your hands.

Jon Cryer is earning ever cent on his paycheck.

I still watch it, it's not AS funny as it was with Sheen, but it's damn funny anyway.

i agree, I find it actually has gotten much funnier lately

He always was the high point and the real talent. Charlie laughed all the way to the bank. I'm amazed the show still exists.

I wonder if they keep to show on so they can get a lot more of these episodes in syndication as opposed to the Sheen episodes.

They're keeping it because it's the second highest rated CBS show behind Big Bang.

2013-04-27 12:56:33 PM
And yet they're cancelling the cleveland show. Here's a hint, network - just cancel the thing. No one is watching Two and a Half men for the most part, There's no reason to reformulate it especially if a central character is leaving AGAIN.

2013-04-27 01:00:29 PM
I think it's funny that Cryer is paid the less of the two. Especially since the show proved that they can just replace the characters at will.

Charlie and Ashton obviously have better agents.

I would argue Mr.Cryer does because he's going to get the residuals for all seasons.

Granted, but cryer didn't have nearly the starpower of the other two (hence, far less negotiating strength), and was basically an unknown at the time wasn't he?

Duckie was unknown?

And prior to 2.5 Men, Angus' most well-known role was the chubby son in The Rookie.

It just seems that after 10 seasons on a "hit show" (I've never seen it, nor do I know anyone who watches it), that he would at least be able to get equal pay on the show.

Ok, wasn't aware of "pretty in pink" apparently. But still, even with a little stardom in the early 90s factored, he still didn't have the name recognition that "Ashton kutcher" or "charlie sheen" had  before the show started. Wasn't really including the kid in with them, but he's leaving anyhow.

//honestly the best character on that series was rose in the beginning, even if there are only so many stalker jokes to be made..

Ahhh when I read "the other two" I was assuming the ones still remaining. Yea he doesn't have as much as Sheen or Kutcher.

I'm sure its a demand on Kutchers contract that he be paid more, even if it's only a buck more. Its an ego thing.

Never seen more than a few random scenes.  Isn't the kid pretty much the *whole point* of the show?

Kinda like removing Jack Tripper from Three's Company... wouldn't really work.

No, the point is watching a cool guy and a loser and their romantic hijinks. The fact that there's a kid factors into those sometimes, but aside from the name issue, he's not necessary. The show can't get much stupider anyway.

I find the show incredibly depression. I don't understand why Alan hasn't offed himself already.

Yes....Vivian Vance's (Ethel on I Love Lucy) contract specifically stated that she was to weigh at least ten pounds more than Lucille Ball...Strange but true.

It does, however, take away his incentive to make a big deal about it, since it will turn out being the highest paid acting job Cryer ever had or will ever have.

As for the kid, he should learned from the Charlie Sheen incident not to bite the hand that feeds him.

2013-04-27 04:27:47 PM
I think Mr. Cryer is now the only character on the show that you wouldn't be able to replace without losing the show completely. We can change Charlie, we can drop the kid, but if Cryer goes...well the whole show just turns into another random "The odd couple." They'd really have to force it to get another cheap freeloader to live rent free in that house with "Waldin." The best they could do is get one of his buddies to move in with him to keep him company after Alan finally shot himself in the spare bedroom.
And mark my words...Alan is going to kill himself....and he's going to do it in a closet with a belt around his neck and his pants down at his ankles.

He was also in the movie "Hot Shots!" alongside Charlie Sheen around 1990. If you haven't seen it, it's a parody of Top Gun and spoofs a few others that were around at the time. Also it has Valeria Golino. 'Nuff said.

Oh holy crap, I never made that connection admittedly - he was the guy with the vision thing, wasn't he?

2013-04-27 08:39:46 PM
It was funnier because Sheen was playing Sheen and was actually the "smart" one.
With him gone, it's two idiots and a kid.

2013-04-27 08:49:30 PM
Oh man, am I too late for the totally edgy 'look at me being a powerful lone wolf' thing where I say the show is terrible and no one watches the highest grossing comedy on TV right now, because I clearly know more than the TV guys who make their living by analysis of the viewing demographics?

Because I hate to miss out on a good circle jerk. I've got my epeen all out and lubed and everything.  Took a ciallis like 2 hours ago (unrelated, but hey, lucky me now!).

Yeah, he had "wall-eye" vision. Here's the scene about it (complete with Serbian subtitles).

At this rate, next season this show is going to star Jon Cryer, Ted McGinley and Scrappy Doo.
