Carice Van Houten was also in the fabulous Black Book. And Sibel Kekilli was the lead in the equally fabulous Head On.

Same for a couple of Littlefnger's whores.  I guess one of the casting directors just browses porn all day and calls it casting research.

I thought his scene this past week was great. The only meaningful crime they could accuse him of was killing the butcher's boy. And to be fair, it's not like he had much of a choice in the matter. Joffrey and Cersei weren't exactly the live and let live type.

The Hound is lawful neutral.

Sandor Clegane isn't really evil.  On the D&D scale, I'd call him true neutral.

I always considered him neutral good. He doesn't seem to care who gives the orders, but on his own he does what one could interpret as the right thing. Stannis epitomizes lawful neutral to me: rules are rules.

He and Bronn are my favorite secondary characters.  The Hound is arguably more "knightly" in actions than any actual knight in the whole series.

Bronn is awesome; I loved that scene with him and Tyrion about pay a few episodes ago. It was written for his character perfectly. And I think the Hound acts "knightly" because his brother, an actual knight, doesn't.

I haven't read ahead, so I don't know much of what's coming down the line, but I will be pissed if Bronn gets killed off, or even if his character gets too marginalized. I love Bronn's scenes. It's a welcome change of pace to have some sarcastic humor in between all the super-seriousness.

He's the perfect foil for Tyrion: Tyrion's in the middle of it no matter what and Bronn simply doesn't give a shiat.

Gonna have to quibble with you on that one.  He's the best planner, schemer, plotter, and strategist in a setting packed to the gills with them.  When everyone has an agenda, and there are a cubic assload of nuts looking to upset his apple cart (even if they don't know it), he still manages to play chessmaster.  Nobody that careful, methodical, and thorough can really be described as "chaotic."  Just because we don't know exactly what his angle is doesn't mean he's just in it for shiats and giggles.  He's got a hell of an endgame planned, and so far, he seems to have a shot at actually getting his way.

Agreed.  Varys is probably the most trustworthy non-Stark character in the whole series...once you understand that all he truly cares about is what is best for the kingdom.

As for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, they totally should have picked Headhunters.  Really enjoyable, very black comedy.

Bah, never mind...didn't realize how recent a film Headhunters was.  2011 hardly counts as his "early" work.

Catlyn is Stupid Stupid Stupid.

In the books and tv show she never makes one good decision. Snags Tyrion and plunges the kingdom into war. Gives up the Kingslayer for Sansa and as far as anyone knows dead Arya. Is an unrelenting biatch to John Snow.

Ok, that last one doesn't play out much, but I might dislike her more than Cersi.

I had no idea Littlefinger was also Tommy Carcetti from The Wire until it was mentioned in one of these threads. Now I can't unsee it.

On that topic, maybe they can figure out a way to get Idris Elba involved as Black Victarion or something.
