This article piques my interest...I'm not a big coin collector, so I knew there were coins like this out there...but I didn't know about this particular one. My wife's grandfather died a few years back, and I'm almost 100% positive there's a nickel that looks just like this in the collection he left my wife, and my memory might be off, but I'm pretty sure it's a 1913...I'll have to look at home.

So the after-hours shenanigans guys at the Mint couldn't get their hands on normal nickel blanks?  Interesting.  So they had good security on those, but not the dies and presses.
