DoctorCal: JenFromTheWood: At least we can all take consolation in the fact that "artists" such as Taylor Swift are here to carry the torch.

Your original account isn't missing. You just forgot the punctuation (a question mark at the end).

I'd give you the url to the profile, but that meddling question mark causes problems with the link.

Doctor Cal...thanks! I'm an idiot.

John Buck 41: As far as the 'real country music/who's gonna fill their shoes' debate goes---music evolves. That said (assuming you don't believe it) there ARE alternatives to RascalAntebellum/TaylorUnderwood/CarrieSwift

Two words: Outlaw Country.  That's some fine, fine music being played on SiriusXM.

Gulper Eel: It is awesome that George Jones has a division all to himself on the DepressingCountrySongs.com list of the most depressing country songs of all time.

Cool link, thanks.

Don't have it. I'll have to live with my mid/late 80s' Dwight Yoakam/Steve Earle cds.

I blame Billy Ray Cyrus, Even Garth Brooks had actual country sounds, check out his cover of Night Rider;s Lament, but Billy Ray was true Pop Country. I give Blake Shelton a lot of Credit. He does a lot of stuff that qualifies as country, but if you want modern country music, hit Radio Free Texas or Siriuss/XM Outlaw Country.
