Frizbone: I hope they feed him pork....and only have the pages of the Koran used as toilet paper. Allah and Mohammad will be joining themselves inside the bowl of his toilet every day.

Yes, because feeding into religious persecution fantasies is the best way to deal with militants and surely won't inspire more violence from others.

So, you're saying Muslims, out of all religious denominations, deserve special punishment if they commit a crime? Dude, insulting his religion isn't the way to go. Insult his intelligence, or just stick to soap jokes.

In before the "prison rape isn't funny" comments.

It is funny, in the sense that 99% of it exists only in your overactive, homoerotic imagination.

Myria: Ironically, I think that he actually can be rehabilitated. He is a mostly normal person, who got caught up in his brother's antics.

That is just wishful thinking on your( and a lot of other people's) part. His brother may have been the one to go all fanatical, but this is a kid who didn't even try to hide his face as he placed a bomb next to some children. He then went out and partied with his friends like nothing happened before carjacking someone and then lobbing more bombs. His brother's actions at least seem to show some inner turmoil over the actions that he was taking( outbursts in mosque, trying to hide his face, moodiness etc).
He is a sociopath and no one wants to believe it because he's an innocent looking kid.

Not just US citizens. Everybody within the United States is supposed to have those rights of theirs respected.

We have 8 stories a day on Fark about goddamn cats. I think this is a lot more newsworthy that a lot of the crap that goes across my screen on a daily basis.

tuxq: A through-and-through bullet wound is treated the same as blunt force trauma, it's not that serious.

If it hits an organ or major artery, it's obviously more serious, but in this case, it did not.

He stuck a .223 rifle in his mouth and tried to kill himself. Little did he know, that only works if it goes into the brain. .223 isn't exactly the largest bullet (size can compensate for bad aim to some degree)

He then used a disintegrator ray to get rid of the .223 rifle before police could arrive to take him into custody. Investigators are still attempting to determine how he managed to get rid of all traces of the disintegrator ray.

maggoo: But no one will care to know if the Boston PD has the habit of shooting unarmed suspects, particularly those involved in terrorist attacks.

If that's what happened, I don't really blame them for shooting at someone who (or the person he was with) had already shot several cops and thrown bombs at them during the same chase.  If you shoot people while running from police, I think you forfeit your right to be assumed unarmed for the remainder of the pursuit.

Exactly. It's farking sickening to listen to the FoxNews airheads and their ilk bemoaning the fact that Tsarnaev's rights are being respected. That's the entire point of our country; it doesn't matter what you do, you will not simply be spirited away in the night, thrown in a hole and forgotten about.

There is an entire world beyond the borders of your country.

And FYI, the US does not rank as the top country in terms of quality of life.

nor 2nd

nor 5th.

In 2005, it ranked 13th.

Dr.Mxyzptlk.: Think prisoners are a black ops team for true justice.

Tsarnaev will be treated with utmost respect by the system. He'll have visits from a Iman and fellow muslims to pray with and share his jihad journey. In time he'll have ghost writers visiting to tell his story.

Hell he already had a judge come and visit him at bedside.

The way this country perverts everything, next year at the Boston marathon will probably see the  Chechen flag paraded down the route.

You are confusing the fact that US citizens do have rights with some sort of pampering.

Your country is only as good as how well it treats its worse citizens.

So very much *THIS*.

The rules apply to everyone.  You may have the best of intentions when carving out limited exceptions, but as we all know, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

PunGent: omnibus_necanda_sunt: Wow, that sure was a fast recovery from a bullet to the neck.

Is that normal, or was there even more media bullshiat out there we'll spend years debunking?

Also, it occurs to me, if he DID shoot himself in the neck, there's a chance a handgun (not a rifle, of course) could still be IN the boat, if the kid dropped it.

I've got a big-ass screwdriver in the bilge of my 25 footer where I dropped it a couple years ago...you'd have to cut the hull apart to get it out, or put a big magnet on something like a plumber's snake...

I'm sure they've either taken that boat apart, or are still in the process of doing so.  If there was a gun there, they would have found it, whether it was in the bilges or not.

lack of warmth: That and now well enough for the FBI can start their interrogation without the hospital medical yelling 'No, you'll rip out his stitches' or 'Stop, he can't lose more blood'.  Can't have civilians always stopping the fun you are having competing with the CIA.

How right you areA federal magistrate judge has set off a firestorm of criticism for ending the interrogation of the  surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect before, lawmakers contend, law enforcement officials had concluded their initial interview.
On Monday morning, Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler visited Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's hospital bedside to preside over his first court appearance, reading him his Miranda rights and informing him of his right to remain silent. That ended the suspect's cooperation in questioning that the Department of Justice's High-Value Interrogation Group had begun under a public safety exception to Miranda, when it can legally question a suspect without a lawyer present.

"The interrogation ended, and yet my understanding is that the FBI wanted to continue doing it," said [Rep. Pete] King.  "This certainly was cut short and why it was done by the attorney general and why the FBI wasn't notified about it in advance, why it wasn't discussed, I just don't have the answer."

Freakin Rican: thats what i thought until i read it was a long term care prison for prisoners. so i guess hes well enough to go there now.

More like a hospital built like a prison I think. It makes sense to put him somewhere where he can get medical tratment that doesn't require an ICU or trauma unit and can be easily secured (unlike a hospital with multiple entries and exits). BPD must have been paying out a fortune in overtime over the last week guarding the hospital that he was in. Not so much to keep him in but to keep pissed off people out.
