Still not caught up with you guize! I've got a lot of events coming up for the summer and we're having company nearly every week this summer on top of it, over half of whom are non-related Scandi types. We'll be eating a lot of fish, in other words. Unless they want "American food", in which case I'll be making CalMex, but that's pretty much standard if I get my way. I finally decided I'd scan what's been written/posted in between gabbing with y'all.

So glad Puki made it home, sorry MMM lost blood over it, though. Transfusions ain't cheap, so try not to do that anymore. ;-p

Glad In2It got their goodies! I needs some goodies now. Well, I don't NEED them, but you know...

Found this new (to me) website for shopping (you know I can't help myself with the shopping) and one of the things I "Fancy'd" is this:

cf1.thingd.com

Why Fancy that? Well, because I found it absolutely hilarious someone wants $575 for something my cat would snub, IF she didn't run away from in terror thinking it was some sort of trap. I also think it is strangely cool (just not nearly $600 worth of cool).

/I also totally want that bald cat
//but I want every animal I see, so....

Pretty sure I could make one of those for $50 max depending on how much you wanted to pay for the fancy fabric on the pillows.

That's pretty much what I thought, too. I'm not up on designer names or anything, but even if I was, I highly doubt I would ever pay even close to that for something my cat would never use. She's up to fighting me for my pillow, but if she wants a good sleep, she's under my bed. She's not even supposed to be in my lair - I'm allergic to cat hair.

Yeah, I know. :-/

I wonder, too.  Poor thing.

A couple of years back, I took in one that someone must have dumped in the alley.  She was skin, bones and infections.  The vet pulled a few teeth.  The photo shows how she's missing part of her tail, too.  She had more hair than the one in the photo, but was still missing about 30% of her coat.  Though someone had socialized her because she loves people.

This is how it turned out:

[lh3.googleusercontent.com image 478x640]

See, she has to lay on my stumpy legs and Hobbit feet.

There isn't always a happy ending.

She looks like she is in heaven!  I am so glad you found each other! :D

My poor Jack isn't feeling well this weekend. He acts fine but he didn't eat his food yesterday and today I ended up fixing him some chicken and rice. He ate some of that but not alot and he's still refusing the dog food. His temp is normal ,he's drinking water normally.I'm not worried about him losing weight but I am concerned when a dog that will normally eat anything he finds in the house won't eat.

Mechanical hint mayhap, from those who have The Touch? Plumbicon's out til only Ceiling Cat knows when.  Somewhat prehistoric saddle stapler has jammed. This the old kind, with the 13" well.  Where the stapling element is, has seized up. Appear to still be a few staples within, but the spring sort of thing that's pulled back to insert more declines to budge.  Bought a newer one, not nearly as big, but it seems to have lost the staple carrying tray or whatever.
Big deal with this, is saddle stapler's needed to secure the newsltrs going to the 2 radio shops by USMule..

Aww, poor little guy.  Maybe he has a little tummy bug?  Have you checked his teeth/mouth for anything sore-looking?  Is everything coming out the other end like usual?  If he hasn't pooped in over 24 hrs and starts acting lethargic, do take him to vet asap, could be an intestinal obstruction.

Hopefully it's nothing that serious though, and hopefully it will solve itself.  But if he goes for more than another day without eating, I would definitely take him to the vet to see what's up.  He is obviously not feeling right about something.  How old is Jack btw?  Might not be a bad idea to have a blood panel done especially if he qualifies as a "senior" (8+).  That can detect all kinds of issues, sometimes before they even exhibit symptoms, which is good because many health conditions can be managed much more easily when caught early.

Yeah it's kind of hard to take when your pal who has in the past sought out such delicacies as cat poo, used kleenexes, and panty hose, refuses something as lovely as fresh chicken.  Don't you wish they could talk sometimes!!!  Hugs & smoochies to sweet Jack, fingers crossed you find out what's wrong and he feels much better soon!!!

Jack is roughly 11 years old and has had a heart condition for as long as I have had him. He is a second hand dog with a mysterious past (he has a few scars under all that fur especially one around his neck) Taking him to the vet is a big issue, we usually have to wait for the Vet who handles "difficult" dogs to be available because Jack is not a social dog.
I have been tempting him with all sorts of stuff today, he ate some of my ham sandwich for lunch and some peanutbutter on toast for breakfast.
Usually I just let him outside when he feels like it because the yard is fenced in, but I went with him this morning and everything was fine.
I will check his teeth because I hadn't thought of that.
If it was warmer out I'd think it was the weather because he does not like the heat but it's not that warm.
He thanks Buddy for the use of his Green Bunny but he would rather rummage thru the clothes hamper for a pair of used sweat socks.

My brothers and I are all alone.

Mom said she would
Go out to hunt,
But she never returned.

I miss her warmth,
Fine tongue making my
Fur behave.

She was comfort,
Food.
Security.

She is gone.

Now we huddle in this alley.
Tired,
Afraid.

Soaked through,
Filthy.
Hopeless.

Behind a trash bin we hide.
When human foot steps softly,
Invade.

Fright.

People can feed,
People can hurt.
We have seen it.

This one stops.
Speaks softly,
Reaches down.

I am.
Drawn.
Trembling.

I slink out of the shadows,
Bedraggled.
Sniff.

A warm hand sleeks my head,
A voice softly murmers.
Promises.

I accept,
And the moment,
Is caught.

For all time.

We are safe.

gremlin1: Jack is roughly 11 years old and has had a heart condition for as long as I have had him.

Good to know he's still eating something, even if just a little, it will keep his strength up.

Might still be a good idea to try to get him in to the vet sometime soon though, if at all possible, unless he's 100% back to normal in a day or two, which we very much hope he is!

Mmm, used sweat socks....

MaudlinMutantMollusk: yobbery: MaudlinMutantMollusk: Puki is gone,
Unfortunately, my "neighborhood" consists of about 5 people per square mile. The coyotes are thicker. Hell, I've had bear on my yard and mountain lions spotted down the hill.
Combined with the hillbilly freeway outside my door (which I've seen kill 8 cats in 100 yards), it's just not a cat friendly environment. More so when the cat has little outdoor experience.

/I want to be hopeful, but I know what the realities are
//all I can do is hope he's safe and happy somewhere

Crossing my fingers that he makes it back home safely.

spinach gunk: Mmm, used sweat socks....

Used sweat socks, milk that's gone bad, put them all in a blender and whattaya got?

Blue Cheese Dressing. The most horrid, nastiest food I can think of, and believe me the bar is pretty damn high.
