MaudlinMutantMollusk: Puki is safe at home again

OMG!!!
spinachgunk.smugmug.com

What great news!

Clean & disinfect those shred wounds well!  And have another drink --  you earned it!
Wishing you a speedy recovery, and many more happy traffic-free indoor years with dear silly little Puki.  :)

Yikes! Glad Puki is safe, sorry to hear you got shredded in the process.
I'm O positive with about 5% bourbon, will that work?

MaudlinMutantMollusk: UPDATE: CAT WARS: RETURN OF THE PUKI
Round 1
So... to recap...

Puki is safe at home again for the nonce.
I'm having a drink and trying to staunch the bleeding. Right hand got the worst of it, but both hands and arms sustained serious damage.
I discovered that I need to pick up some bandaids tomorrow.

/thank you all for your good wishes and thoughts; I have to admit I was pretty upset over that dumbass cat
//now... anyone want to donate blood?

Yay!  That is wonderful news!

*Kermit Flail!* Yayyy! Hope you heal over quickly, and hopefully he never gets the urge to run off like that again. As for blood, I'd help, but 1) I already donated last week, and 2) I almost need some myself, see the post above yours. :P

ArmednHammered: Get some Butterfly bandages, they work great for cuts like that. Short of stitches that's your best bet for a gouge.

The hubby said the same thing, and I very nearly needed stitches. It wouldn't be a bad idea, but it wasn't deep/long enough, and I opened up my hand at 10:30 last night, so I didn't think that it was serious enough to warrant me trying to drive around with half a hand looking for an ER or something. With my luck I'd end up in the ER because some chucklehead would run into me, necessitating an ambulance run. I was totally channeling Tim the Toolman Taylor last night. :-\

Hope it heals clean and WOOT!! for getting a washer/dryer, that's a really good feeling to not have to drag clothes to the laundromat (I'd rather spend time on the wrong end of an artillery range than go to another laundromat in this lifetime).

So. Much. This.

CSB:
Got some nice scars on my hand from a year old German Shepard that decided to attack me while I was sitting in a park reading a book. It's owner was a complete pants on head dick. When all was said and done, I had more respect for the poorly socialized dog than I did for the owner.

Ick. I always feel bad for dogs who are good-natured and energetic but have terrible owners who can't teach them basic discipline and outdoors social skills. :(

MaudlinMutantMollusk: UPDATE: CAT WARS: RETURN OF THE PUKI
Round 1
Unable to sit still, I kept going out and walking around calling my little lost pal about every 10 minutes. Around 8:30, I spotted a movement in the brush across the road, and Puk trotted out into the road. Fortunately, there was a rare break in the traffic.
So I coaxed him across the rest of the way, and he decided to be an idiot an run around every direction but towards me. But at least I knew the little sh*tbird was still alive.
After about 5 minutes of calling and pleading, I got him to come within reach and grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and gathered him into my arms. Just then, 4 cars in a row came screaming down the hillbilly highway at about 60 MPH (this is 10 feet away from me) and sent him into full cat-sh*t panic. I tried to endure the pain of my ripped flesh, but I failed. Torn from elbow to fingertip, and wearing a newly shredded t-shirt, I had to let go, and he was gone again in an instant.
End of round 1.
Round 2.
I knew the little bastard was still close by, so I kept going out and walking around calling. Once again, I heard his familiar plaintive mew, and spotted him at the neighbors door looking at me and crying. Now, why that dumbass cat goes to the wrong door and then cries to me next door is a complete other mystery, but I digress...
After another 10 minutes of coaxing, cajoling, and generally making myself sound like a complete idiot to anyone listening, I managed to get hold of him again, and before anything else sent him into hysterics, get him back in the house.
End of round 2.

Puki is safe at home again for the nonce.

I'm so glad to hear Puki is home safe & unharmed. Wish I had some way to get you first aid supplies. Just remember to clean every scratch, gouge, etc. well with soap and water and make certain to get some neosporin when you pick up first aid supplies. We don't want you getting an infection.

Almost... I genuinely considered using superglue, but we didn't have any, and IIRC, it's a bad thing to put in an open wound. Though I HAVE stapled myself once before. I am such a hazard to my own health.

He's a rotten little bastard, but you love him him. Just don't hug him too hard. I bet he's looking all innocent too, right?

Happy Caturday, everyone!

Target went to the vet for her first visit on Monday. She definitely had something going on in her eye, but some antibiotic ointment took care of it in short order. The vet also thinks that she's maybe 5-6 weeks old, not 6-8 weeks. Either way, she's doing just fine. She has, however, chewed through the cord of my earbuds. I'm thinking that the best way to get rich is to invent cat-proof earbuds. :D

And now, it's time to play Spot the Cat!i81.photobucket.com

Plumbicon reminded me that Geographical Proximity is no excuse for thinking aforementioned short road trip is my responsibility. Radio club's got a Silent Key (late mbrs) chair who's responsible for that.  Matters Not that he lives 20 mi away & we live just 1.5 mi away! Have now e'd both son of late mbr & cc'd SK chair; but is my responsibility to Put Something in NL which I now assemble May edition of.  Anyone else think they're often/ always responsible for everything?
