CaptSacto: Those guys do NOT get paid enough.

Except for CB Bucknor.  That guy shouldn't even be umpiring a T-ball game.

Down goes Hirschbeck!  Down goes Hirschbeck!

At least it was a foul tip and to full on.

Two balls!

He got up and finished the game, which means he was wearing a cup like all umps (should) do. Otherwise he doesn't get up until Sunday.

I remember this happening in the '84 World Series, San Diego and Detroit.  Lance Parrish was catching, forget who was pitching, but Parrish called for a pitchout and jumped out of the way.  Pitcher missed the sign and threw a fastball right into the ump's groin.  You saw the whole thing unfold and knew nothing could be done about it.

From the same game, even more wicked than that, is this gif:

There was also a 61 mph off-speed pitch that Hamilton missed by a country mile, can't find video on that though.

Aureleo(sp?) Lopez. Senor Smoke. I remember that, it was brutal. I can remember thinking that it looked intentional.

Krymson Tyde: What's the count, blue?

Two balls!

We used to have a running joke when we were kids.

"What would Krymson Tyde's baseball biography be title?"

"Three strikes, no balls"

I'd be interested to see a similar gif of Pedro, since that's who they like to compare Darvish to.

I umpire softball, and in the clinic for our new umpires, we tell them, when giving the count, to NEVER say 'no balls'.  :D

I also tell people I get paid to play with the balls in my bag  :D

Three balls with one swing! That should be like a six-base hit...

Major League umpire's starting salary is around $120,000, with the senior umps earning up to $350,000
