(Uproxx)   Comedy Central star Nathan Fielder asked his Twitter followers to text "got 2 grams for $40" and "sorry ignore that txt" to their parents. The results are predictably great   (uproxx.com) divider line 96

I would've known that was a lie immediately. Two college books for $40?! Yea right.

/It's only funny if it's not true
//Which is why I would never text my parents that

I enjoyed watching this play out last night. Some of the reactions were that much more funny because of how farked up the kids already were and their parents' angry reactions weren't specific to the text, but toward yet another piece of shiat being added to the pile.

Fielder also has a must-follow Twitter account,

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope.

Crewmannumber6: HA HA! Stupid parents caring about their kids' well being, fark you losers!

And this. Haha, fark you parents, jokes on you! The reason your kid was so easily convinced to send this joke drug text is because they're probably already using!

Love it.  Crowd pranking.

If there's one thing that text screencaps have taught me, it's that some kids have messed up relationships with their parents.

Also, awesome.

2 grams for 40 is either exceptionally good pot or really cheap meth/coke

If I texted that to my dad he'd just ask me what dirt I'm buying that only costs 20 a gram.

Being in one of the more expensive areas, it sounds like your dad is being ripped off and doesn't even know it. $20 is usually top of the line, maybe $25. Anything more and you're being taken for a fool.

Me too. I love that the reactions ranged from, "you're overspending" to "you're going to rehab" to "do you want to go back to jail?"

My dad would, well... he doesn't like computers or phones, so texting would be a no... but if I could have pranked him, he would have likely said he knew a better guy with better stuff for better prices.

I was disowned more than once before 18. My parents were separated, so it wasn't a huge deal if one of my parents disowned me, because the other wouldn't out of sheer spite! But it was my dad disowning me, so since I lived with mom, it was no big deal, no skin off my nose. I mean... it was harsh to tell your 15 year old child that you were done with them just weeks after their grandfather passed away, that was a mind fark and an emotional rollercoaster. But I'm OK now.

Honestly, Nathan Fielder's show surprised me in how funny it was (especially being paired with the mess that is The Ben Show.)

Am I in the minority in finding the show hilarious?

Nathan for You is the funniest shiat I've seen in forever.  The gas rebate and claw of shame episodes are just on another level.  I think gas rebate is on hulu + if anybody has it, people out there should definitely check that out

I like how everyone assumes "2 grams" means "2 grams of pot". You all clearly know your drug pricing, but I imagine the average parent doesn't have a clue so "2 grams" could mean cocaine for all they know.

Depends.  The Engineering courses tended to be 1 $300 book.  The English courses tended to be 7-10 $20 books.

Meh... if you are going to prank your parents, you need something much more involved than this:

Me: OK, where did you want me to bury the body again?
Me: Crap, the cops are following me now.
Mother: Now what did you get into?

I sent this to my mother and she replied...

"If Comedy Central star Nathan Fielder asked you to jump of a cliff, would you?

I am ashamed of my son, the one used to be able to come up with his own jokes.  I mean I would expect this from your brother, but he's a half-wit.
