The Stealth Hippopotamus: Probably?!

Just wait till May 31st about the 2nd inning. I'm sure there will be some feel good bs before the first pitch....

Second thought maybe it would last till the 2nd inning.

Ok, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker going here, two down, nobody on, no score....

Nana's Vibrator: The hate only really comes out when both teams are good.  So, a little later this year, if the Sox keep it up  and the Yanks get healthy again and stay up there in the standings, the answer is beanball.  And I will watch closely for the first person who tries to fight Youkilis.

Youk's gonna grab a steel chair, and then smash ....Jeter with it. Then he'll tear of his Yankee Jersey, have a Red Sox Jersey underneath, and instantly be traded back to the Sox.

//That's how it works.

Publikwerks: Yanks_RSJ: And we've also got the "18-1" card to play if the discussion turns to the NFL.  Plus the other time NY beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.  So, you know, we're okay.

Yeah, the 18-1 is the new 1918. But at least we got 2001,03 and 04 to soften it.

//God, 1918 really really sucked.

Yes, we all know how safe division leads are when Boston is in the lead.

Super Chronic: It's idiotic to even be asking this stupid question.  What happened in Boston was terrible.  It also had fark-all to do with any Boston sports teams, and in my view you trivialize it by putting those sports teams at the center of the discussion.

Gunny Highway: rkiller1: abhorrent1: Nope. NY will hate them even more now for stealing away their victim status. New Yorkers are secretly praying for something to happen so they can get their pity party back in swing.

THIS

What is it about NY that you dont like?  I have never understood it.

What I don't get is how anyone can assert that the Yankees play victim knowing the Mets are in the very same city.

As I Sox fan I never really truly got into the "Yankees Suck" thing but that made me LOL.

CSB.  I was taking the ferry back from Long Island one fall during a Sox-Yankees playoffs.  While I was queued up in line a guy with a walkie talkie comes up to my car. I roll my window down.  He looks at my MA plates and asks, "Yankees fan or Red Sox fan?"  I just laughed.  He gets on the walkie talkie and says "Red Sox fan coming through".  No worries, the Sox were down 3 games by that point.  I am sure if I made the trip a week later my car would have accidentally to the bottom of Long Island Sound.  Yeah it was 2004.

Killer Cars: Hell, I'm a Sox fan but I never got the sense it was an equal "hatred" between the two camps. On the Yankees side, I figured they viewed us as more a mild annoyance than anything else.

When we actually won more things instead of losing them, maybe they took more notice.

I won't minimize the hatred between the teams, I want the Red Sox to lose every single day.
