A while ago there was some supposedly real transcript of an exchange over the radio between a Canadian light house and a US admiral.  The admiral didn't know he was addressing a light house and was demanding the Canadians move to prevent a collision or else.  At the end he was informed he was communicating with a light house.

Anyway, if Canada doesn't want the US to run into it s stuff it needs to move its stuff.  Similarly, on my way out, I'll be kicking the air like this *kicks air at crotch level* and if you get get hurt it is your own fault.

Our new anti-surface ship weapon, a kinetic weapon consisting of a big civilian ship towed by two tugs. Who needs a railgun when we can just hurtle our ships into yours in your own port?

/Stephen Decatur had better implementation though

We have met the enemy, and he is ours!

As usual the US causes more harm to it's allies than to it's opponents.

That joke goes back forever in some form or other.  I doubt it was real.

Apparently it's been FW:FW:FW:'ed enough that Snopes has a thing on it: Link

Obvious false-flag operation is obvious. This is no doubt some sort of Canadian Navy insurance scam. Follow the money.

I bet the tug boats did this.

I need to make the lack of seriousness more obvious.  Yes it's not real clearly but I was hoping that the bottom 2 lines with a Simpsons reference would link the fictional absurdity of it.

The captain of the fishing boat was immediately offered a job with BC Ferries.

As a result of the American ship hitting the Canadian warship, the US has bombed Venezuela.

And one day something like this can happen to a naval ship carrying nukes and it is no wonder many countries ban the US nuke fleet from entering their harbours and waters

For the love of god get all your sailors some anti-histamine medication before allergy season. We wouldn't want anybody to sneeze next to a nuke either.

don't worry. the canuckistani boats also spontaneously combust on their own, so nobody has to worry about them except dirty European cod poachers.

This joke was a lot funnier 10 years ago, back before the CAD was regularly worth more than the USD. As someone who lives near the border, now it's just sad since I lost my cheap weekend booze/gambling vacations.

Ok... what's your point? I said "regularly" not "always". It's been hovering near parity for a few years now, which is the point.
