Can you get me a lynx? I saw one named Puddy being taken away from a guy on the news a few years ago, so let's keep this on the down low. EIP.

There are persistent rumours of large black cats in Australia but none have ever been caught by anyone who couldn't be described as a red neck who describe them as panther sized black cats. The Aboriginals also have long rumours of them. If cats managed to catch a ride here 10,000+ years ago, would they evolve to the point where their natural isolation from each other would make them undetectable to modern biologists?

I know some credible people that have seen black cougars/panthers in the south canadian river area in Oklahoma, yet every game warden and biologist says there is no way. Are the authorities wrong?

You're welcome. Now down to business. Bigfoot, have you found and killed it yet?

Also no. I have the droppings of someone who saw Bigfoot.

2013-04-25 09:19:18 AM
What is the range of jaguarundi? Do jaguarundi migrate?

2013-04-25 09:20:08 AM
But this cat is not the only escapee to have roamed the UK countryside. Felicity the puma was caught near to where I grew up.

2013-04-25 09:22:10 AM
Jaguarundi are mainly South and Central American but there are some feral animals meant to be found in Florida.

You collected the droppings of a person who saw bigfoot? Wouldn't you rather have bigfoot's droppings?

Tell Me How My Blog Tastes: By "exotic cats" I'm sure you mean foreign women, right?

No, in the UK women are referred to as "birds." Speaking of birds, what is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?

2013-04-25 09:29:52 AM
Why is it that crazy people have lots of cats?

2013-04-25 09:30:04 AM

We have some around the Galveston Bay area. I suppose what I meant to ask is the range of a single jaguarundi. I am curious how far the animals I have encountered might have traveled. We know they were jaguarundi as they have a peculiar way of skinning their prey.

Ive just looked up data on radio tagged jaguarundi and it seems a range of up to 20km square is not unusual for a single female.

Why do people insist on pronouncing jaguar "jag-wire"?

What is a cool exotic cat I can own (with permits) that wouldn't rip a regular house cat to shreds?

If you have a cat that will obey a verbal command or two would you say that you have pussy control?

On a serious note, congrats on getting published. Despite the ton of snarky and goofy comments likely to appear in this thread you've done something pretty awesome. Be proud of it.

Pants full of macaroni!!: Why do people insist on pronouncing jaguar "jag-wire"?

Because "jag you are" sounds worse and the extra syllable makes it harder to yell "Help! Jaguar!" While it's chasing you.

People say that in the Panhandle all the time (including my wife, smh), despite their being little evidence of melanism among felis concolor, let alone evidence of Florida panthers being in the panhandle.

If cats always land on their feet and buttered bread always lands buttered side down, what happens when you duct tape the bread to a cat's back and throw them off of a building?

2013-04-25 09:51:13 AM
Dr Ross Barnett, a molecular biologist from the University of Copenhagen and the University of Durham, said: "I've seen one of these cats in the wild.

Wait, you've got two jobs? No wonder there aren't any jobs in science, you're hogging them all.

Would it be ethical to train one of these big cats to follow me around as a warning to all those around me?

Real question: What is the range of big cats in the Northeast of America? Do Mountain Lions still have large numbers there?
