Why not just make the drugs illegal?

It does seem kind of silly. You can make a pipe out of almost anything.

This will definitely result in a dramatic downturn in the number of marijuana smokers since there is absolutely no other way to deliver smoke to your lungs than glass pipes and bongs.

What about vaporizers?

Hey man, like those bongs are for tobacco use only. So they're like perfectly legal, right? I mean, like they are for tobacco use only, so how could they be illegal? Man, I don't get this, the woman has two babies.

2013-04-25 07:17:32 AM
Yea, lord knows no one in the history of pot has ever, EVER smoked it out of a corncob pipe Popeye style..

I find Hookas are enough with shisha tobacco. I couldn't even imagine how high you'd get smoking 45 minutes' worth of pot anyway.

Everything that we sell is for tobacco use. If anyone insinuates it's for marijuana, they are asked to leave the store," Davis said.

Next you have to outlaw hardware stores. I swear one time I even saw some "vases" that were one modification away from being bongs so you'll also have to tightly curtail florists and home decoration stores, lest these drug fiends get creative. They will as soon as they come down off their "high" and stop rape raping women and listening to their jazz music.

Doesn't smoking from tinfoil/aluminum increase your chance of getting Alzheimer's or something. I like apples.

Puritans. I'll never understand them ... why even be one? What possible benefit is there, compared to the downside of going through life being a humorless prig? I wonder if neuroscientists have studied them, they ain't right in the head.

Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg, sponsored the bill. He is a former drug addict and said the goal of the bill is to make it harder for drug users to get the pipes.

Yes, this will surely solve the drug problem.  Idiot.

Oh well, already own a bong. And a 5 ft tall solid brass 6 hose Hookah. Aaaaand I can roll a spiffy spliff. Not to mention my MacGyver skillz at making a pipe from pretty much anything. Apples, carrots, potatoes, etc.

/F*ck Darryl Rouson. He's behind this crap. Fuggin crackhead.

When I was in high school, machine shop should have been renamed Bong and Pipe Manufacturing 101.

2013-04-25 08:08:57 AM
It's important to outlaw bongs and pipes, but firearms should be completely unregulated.

CSB - the best bong I ever used was a 5 gallon glass jug with a quart sized pocket that my friends mom made into a lamp.  He had it in his room, we used to fill the pocket with ice and put whatever liquid we had in the jug.

While I disagree wholeheartedly with the spirit and letter of the law, this argument against it is kind of silly.  It's logically equivalent to gun nuts saying, "Well, hammers can be used to kill people too!  You wanna ban hammers?!"

Meanwhile in Florida you can go to one of the many "pain" clinics to get your Oxycontin fix or an "anti-aging clinic" to get your steroid fix.  But don't you dare get a bong.

The only way to stop a bad guy with a bong is a good guy with a bong.

Bongs don't stone people, people stone people.

When bongs are outlawed, only outlaws will have bongs.

Alcohol intoxicates millions more people annually than cannabis does, so why aren't you legislating away beer bottles and kegs?

Why not just enforce the drug laws we have on the books instead of making more? Big government trying to control our lives!

I'm sure there are other cliches that can be modified... either way, I think my point is made ambiguously enough that quite a few people can get needlessly outraged at the comparison.
