"You guys can always find the subtleties in anything," Sanford told the assembled media.

Like a guy who spent taxpayer money on his extranational affair thinking he can represent a party of fiscal responsibility and family values?

Which does describe his party well.

Republicans sure love "debating" inanimate objects that don't answer or challenge them, eh?

They're the type of people who go on a caged "hunt" and think they're rugged, self-sufficient sportsmen.

She should debate a map of Argentina.

Careful. Sanford might shoot you in the face.

Apparently, subby didn't RTFA, which says he debated a poster of Nancy Pelosi. He still lost, but "Fred Holsclaw of Goose Creek gave Sanford a demonstration of a deer call whistle he made."

And making their own conservative versions of everything like wikipedia, facebook and probably the weather channel.

They are too cowardly to ever hear opposing views.

FTFA: "You guys can always find the subtleties in anything," Sanford told the assembled media.

Yeah, a former governor and current congressional candidate in South Carolina running in a high profile race yelling at a cardboard cutout of a woman from California on a sidewalk in the middle of the day.  Totally subtle.

Do Republicans have some secret facility devoted to making cardboard effigies and chairs? They seem to have an endless supply if these things.

Yes, it's located in China. The bastion of freedom.

Why are they using those crappy collapsible music stands as podiums? I'm surprised they didn't blow over in the breeze.

I'm not sure. I sent an email to find out. I included you, so it should be in your inbox. The subject is re:peat.

He's debating a poster of Pelosi, because she's the Democrat he wishes he was running against, because his two-timing ass might have a chance then.

Why not just go fully literal and debate a straw man?

2013-04-25 08:40:07 AM
You would think the free market idiots in the republican party would stop hiring republicans to run their campaigns. This kind of shiat is just embarassing. Just pay the best person you can find to do the job. Someone good will do it for the right price even if they disagree with your stupid ass.

Sanford said a vote for Colbert Busch would also be a vote for Pelosi, the former House leader.

One of my favorite Theodore Roosevelt stories is how the "teddy bear" came to be named. IIRC (and correct me if I'm wrong), members of his hunting party had tied a bear to a tree and invited Roosevelt to shoot it. This pissed off Teddy, and that wasn't a man you wanted pissed at you. Apparently the story gained legs in the press, and the "teddy bear" was born.

We could pick through his actions as president all day (personally, I like his legacy). But no matter - a man who refuses to shoot a captive animal is good enough for me.

Ha ha!  He done gone and showed himself them there libtards!  BOOTSTRAPS!

Moderates that don't care enough about their representation to vote sure as hell better start caring, or the above sentence will be delivered during a SOTU.

Paraphrasing myself from a thread last night:

Here we are, once again, using Pelosi as a boogeyman when no one in states like South Carolina can articulate why exactly they hate her. Seriously, the next time you hear someone shrieking "Pelosi and Reid!," ask them what specifically either has done to upset them, aside from hearing those names growled in the right's similarly vague media. I'm not claiming that Pelosi has never done anything wrong or stupid; just that these Fox-type voters only know that they're supposed to hate her for some nebulous reason. This Sanford prick using a cardboard cutout is just further evidence of that. He wouldn't be using it if he knew it wouldn't draw a visceral reaction.

One thing the GOP has gotten right is Pavlovian politics. Pick a word or name, bark it like a junkyard dog each of the million times you say it, and watch the rubes eat it up. Real Americans have no need for specifics.

/went to school in SC

It's part of their continued fever dreams of voter fraud.  The only way Pelosi can possibly win her next election is by stealing votes from someone 3000 miles away.

At least the poster doesn't need to fear rape from a representative of the party of rape.

*checks your average Reagan portrait hung in the house of a GOPer*

The poster will however need a good rub down with some 10% bleach solution after the debate.

This...   It pisses me off as a state of SC employee that he got to pay back the money he spent to see his mistress when he was caught with his dick in the cookie jar.  If I used state money for personal use, I wouldn't get the opportunity to pay it back.  I'd be jobless and facing charges; like he should have been.

Asshole

After the election, he can be interviewed by a cardboard cutout Faux News anchor so that he can explain how the lamestream driveby MSM assassinated him.
