I was at work during a storm. During a break I asked my co-worker a question about his mother. He made a snide comment about his mother who was deceased. Within seconds of his remark we heard a very loud roll of thunder. My friend apologized to his mother about his remark and promised to never say anything like that again. I have never seen such perfect timing before or since.

1990.. maybe it was 91.. I dunno, anyways, I'm at this Cinderella show, outdoor, Riverbend, Cincy.

The band is going thru the obligatory solos, and just as the drum solo starts... the wind starts whipping around the ampitheatre like crazy. Now, we had seen some lightning off in the distance, but nothing that looked menacing, and no smell of rain or hint of a storm otherwise.

The drum solo keeps going, and the wind is getting stronger and stronger, and now there are columns of spinning leaves and cups and other debris spinning around on the sides of the stage. JUST as the solo ends... lightning strikes just opposite the stage, on the other side of the river. Huge positive CG strike, and the sound is beyond deafening.

Wind dies, and there is just stunned utter silence from the crowd.

Then everyone loses their shiat, standing ovations, some people are running for the exits, everyone else is just amazed at what we just witnessed... and the drummer comes out and takes a bow, and the show goes on.. but it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life.

Similar story when I was in my early teens and with this song, which already has a pretty chaotic sound to it.  Built to the ending crescendo, hit the last note, simultaneously lightning struck a few hundred feet behind the amphitheatre, nobody can hear shiat but everyone's going nuts.

Of course, a song or two later the power went out and a funnel cloud formed directly overhead and we all got totally soaked and could have been horribly killed, but whatever, awesome moment.

I saw Ozzy in 1993 at the star lake amphitheatre in Pittsburgh. Almost the whole show, there was a storm going on off in the distance behind the stage with some awesome lightning. Never did rain at the show. It was really cool.

//After typing this, it dawned on me that was 20 farking years ago already. Argh.

I was attending an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest.  It featured Patrick Stewart in the lead.  That evening became cloudy, and as the climax of the play unfolded, thunder and wind rolled over from Brooklyn.

It was eerie.

When I was a teenager once it was starting to rain a little and a couple friends and I were jogging back to the car. My buddy beat me to yelling "shotgun" for the 10th time in a farking row and I raised my fists skyward and with a voice, both deep and frayed with anger, roared at the top of my lungs, "GIVE ME LIGHTNING FOR MY FURY!"

As if on cue a brilliant bolt of lightning shot across the sky above us accompanied by a furious roar of thunder. Everyone stood surprised for a moment.

I still sat in the back.

I have experienced something similiar. I made a long overdue apology to a friend of mine. As soon as i apologized there was a loud rumble of thunder

They already are, but if they could do something like that, they would. They already buy a third of all the lycopodium produced annually by China for effects.

Saw them in '11 in Oakland. Incredible show, despite the shrieking idiotic Christian group filming the audience before the doors opened and the fight in my row during "Ich Will". We could feel the intense heat from the fires during "Sonne" even though we were in the middle of the auditorium, just a furnace blast of heat. I really don't know how they avoid being cooked. Saw some folks after the show with stickers saying "I survived front row at Rammstein show."

/wonderful to finally hear the band as loud as the music is meant to be played
//magical night

My buddy and I were rock climbing in Arizona, I was leading but stuck on a hard move.  The evening light was beginning to face, and we needed to reach the anchors and rap down before dark.  I hung there for long minutes, knowinig that the longer I dicked around, the darker it would get.  I finally went for a long desperate lunge.  In mid-leap, lightning flashed directly overhead, illuminating the rock in perfect high-contrast relief.  I made it to the next holds and didn't fall.

I rested a bit, thinking "OK that was cool" and my belayer yelled up:  "that was inspirational, dude!".

/we made it off just fine.
