FTFA:

"For an average person that is 4 [foot] 11 the ideal weight is between 110 pounds and 125 pounds, and that can vary a little bit... But 88 pounds is definitely way low."

No wonder Americans are so fat. If you're 4'11" and 125 pounds, you're going to be pretty chunky.

Your theory is generally confirmed by most of these images of 4'11" women who are between 120-129 lbs. While not obese (well, one or two of them seem to fit that description, but I'm thinking they've understated their weight), it's hard to describe their weight as "ideal" in most of these cases.

My wife is 5 feet 3 1/2 inches and a even 100 pounds. Very little fat. So 12 pounds lighter but 4.5 inches shorter... Woman is damn thin. She sure ain't fat!

I've always wondered; if things actually did play out as you describe, would you carry any culpability?

The context of the quote, for the DIDN'T READ ARTICLE crowd, was that she was complaining that she only weighs 88 pounds and still somehow has a muffin top.  That's a reasonable complaint to make.  I'd be pissed in that situation.

Hell, I remember when I did Atkins for a while.  I dropped 25 pounds, but it came off everywhere but my stomach.  Legs, arms, my freakin' face, but the belly persisted.  I kept it off for about a month in the hope that it would "even out", and NOPE, nothing.  I was below recommended body weight and still had a spare tire.

Instead I settled for getting in shape-- err, getting physically fit, at any rate.  My general shape may be pear-ish but it ain't all fat.  I have to say, a muffin top looks decidedly less eww when it's clear that there's a good deal of muscle involved.

I have no idea who this chick is. Reading the thread, I'm getting some pretty convincing "keep it in your pants" information.

It's redundant.  The last name "Chenoweth" just brings to mind these two high-sanity characters;

... wtf am I reading here? Are you seriously saying that the pictures of the girls on that very link are showing girls who are an unhealthy weight? What the hell?

This is a big reason why women these days are so farked up about their weight. Only ONE of the girls on that search I'd put at being anywhere near unhealthy. The rest are quite happily normal looking.

125 may be pushing it but 115 is the area women should be in and if you are exercising 120 or so looks fine if you are above 5'

At 88 pounds that girl looks sickly and disgusting.

2013-04-25 12:32:59 AM
Some people are just naturally small. One of my exes was 5 foot flat, and could barely top 100 pounds, no matter how much she ate.

I imagine it's even harder to put on weight when you're working out constantly and then doing choreography for stage performances.

That said, I'd totally angry god screen door king of England.

Maybe it's just me, or those pictures, but her head really doesn't seem to fit on her neck very well. She's either a human bobblehead, or those pictures are really not flattering at all.

The lowest weight you could have a 4'11" and still be in the "normal" range for your BMI is 92 lbs.

Both of you are completely full of crap. Both posts are nothing but moronic nonsense.

First of all, stop throwing around words like "ideal" because they're way too subjective. What looks ideal to one person often looks like crap to another.

The article is right. Based on medical criteria and not those of virgin trolls posting from their parents' house, 125 lbs is within the healthy weight range for a woman who is 4' 11''. A woman of that height weighing only 88 pounds is also classified as underweight. Not that it isn't obvious by just looking at her stick legs and the bones sticking out of her torso.

I also looked at the pics you linked to, and with the exception of one or two who were definitely above 130 lbs, the rest looked perfectly healthy and some of them looked pretty damn fine! In fact I would take most of them over the average skeletor the gay dudes in the fashion industry are obsessed with.

Good God!  She is morbidly obese!

Sorry, but people who are mentally damaged at her age should probably be shuffled out of the deck.  Psychiatry fixes nothing, so damaged goods remain damaged goods and someone who looks like Skeletor but insists that they are fat is damaged goods.

I always thought she was cuter than Chuck and the Pie Man was a fool. Her rendition of 'Birdhouse in Your Soul' is awesome.
I dated a 4'9" ballerina right after high school. Tiny, flexible and in great shape.

I am emphatically not a member of Fark's chubby chasing brigade, but a lot of those chicks seem to be fit rather than chubby.  The shorter someone is, the harder it is to tell health just by the weight.  Especially with younger women (25 and under).
