How many people do you really need in the draft room though?  I mean presumeably you have done your ranking, know the likely breakdown of players rankings and what your needs are.  Should be preaty cut and dry and all those people manning phones and computers are just window dressing.  Hell go one better.  Have an intern sitting in the room and just phone him with the pick each time your up and he can run the card up.

LucklessWonder: davidphogan: LucklessWonder: DC? I'm in the RVA

You're in a rape victim advocate?  I know Dan Snyder is a bad owner, but you might be taking that too far.

RVA may refer to:
*    Régie des Voies Aériennes de la République Démocratique du Congo

*   Richmond, Virginia

*   RVA Magazine, an independent art, music and opinion magazine based in & on Richmond, VA

*   Relative Virtual Address, a concept in the COFF format

*   Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school outside of Nairobi, Kenya

*   Ryedale Voluntary Action, the Council for Voluntary Service for Ryedale, North Yorkshire

*   Russian Vegetable Association, a Russian organization to promote the consumption of vegetables.

Clearly I'm in a Russian Vegetable Association.

I'm updating my favorite tag for you with that.

Rhypskallion: Maybe the Jags have a 'back war room' where all the guys with computers are playing DOOM!   And where all the real work will happen during the draft.

DOOM is right.  One of my favorite games was them ending Dan Marino in the playoffs though.

/this is still the at the top of the sports tab?  The NBA playoffs or something that happened in baseball didn't merit a greenlight?

It is pretty obvious from their recent success that Jacksonville has it all figured out for sure.

I like the fact that Bunny gets all the love in a Jaguars thread. If a new poster shows up in the fall sporting teal and black, I'd kinda be upset. It's like "look, we've already got our quota of Jagwaggers filled. And we like her."

Killer Cars: LucklessWonder: Counter point:

They're bad, but...here's an older article absolutely eviscerating damn near everything Jacksonville has done recently.

I almost stopped reading after the quote from their GM justifying drafting a punter in the third round with "I'd rather take a starter over a backup" because my vision was understandably blurred after repeatedly slamming my head into the wall as a knee-jerk response to that.

I know that most folks are clueless about what's happening in Jacksonville, but the two guys pictured in that room weren't here last year so that article doesn't mean anything. And yeah, David Caldwell probably does have every player report memorized. Shad Khan isn't playing around, he wants to win and he's put people in place to make that happen.

The Browns' war room probably has a blind guy being turned around in a circle while holding a dart, with a target and some candidate's names stuck on it hanging on the wall.

I love that pic. Assuming that no one is sharing a sandwich, there are 4 people around: Kirk, the photogrpher, the person in the corner, and the person outside. It always cracks me up that the one lady is stuffed in the corner and another didn't even come in the room.

/I don't see the issue with there only being 4 people though, since some people work in small offices. Was he supposed to hire stand-ins?

Khan isn't farking around anymore and I really like the direction we're heading. Firing that last bunch and bringing in new people is what was needed for that organization years ago. Most of those people had become too complacent and I never thought Smith was qualified to be GM. Just glad he's finally gone. Still have to get used to those new uniforms though and that may take some time.

The measure of how a uniform looks is not the glamor shots, it's how it looks on the field from the stands, and on the telly.   The new Jaguar threads might (might) look good.

The truth about the new look is that the helmets are two tone so that Gabbert can tell which direction his receivers are facing. I think they look like revamped XFL uniforms, so maybe Vince McMahon will have his vindication yet.

Laugh all you want, but there's a pic in todays Buffalo News of the Bills' war room from the 1988 draft.  It's got John Butler, Bill Polian and Marv Levy, and that's it.  They pulled 4 long time starters from that draft, including Thurman Thomas.  You don't need 400 people tapping away at keyboards and yaccking into cell phones to make a quality draft pick.  You need a couple of people who know wtf they're doing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Jags will be drafting the next SB champion team this season, I'm just saying a team having 400 idiots in the room isn't going to be better than a team that has 1 genius, alone, in the room.

Don't worry, there's still more of us than admitted Jets fans so there's that.

There's actually four of us on Fark(that I konw of) but I haven't seen the fourth farker in this thread. Can't remember his Fark name either so maybe he's just hiding right out now and laughing.
