Shryke: Cataholic: If you really want to drill down to what stupidity comes from politicians and party operatives at the dog-catcher level you're going to find some really wacky stuff from all parties.

Oh nonono. Let the laughably transparent righteous indignation FLOW from the left.

It's all they do, really.

Isn't it odd how the lefties on Fark can produce a seemingly endless list of examples of elected Republicans saying and doing racist and sexist things, but you can only say "both sides are bad" without pulling up any specific instances of them doing it too?

It's not like the right doesn't have organizations and websites that scour everything liberals say and do to find something to be outraged about. Why not pull up an example of an elected Democrat saying something equally as vulgar and childish to a Republican activist? Surely there must be hundreds of examples you can find easily.

Yesterday a Republican dark money group got caught photoshopping all the minorities out of the stock photos in their mailers. They're not the biggest name in conservative politics, but surely leftwing groups do the exact same thing all the time, right?

I long for the days when there were Democrats like Robert Byrd...what?...the days never left? My bad.

My point was that I prefer a politician that makes clumsy passes at women to one who calls them biatches, and
Two years before Roe v. Wade he introduced the Senate's first abortion legalization bill, but he was unable to attract a cosponsor for either. His pro-choice stance earned him the loyalty of many feminist group and numerous awards including those from the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (January 10, 1983) and the National Women's Political Caucus (October 23, 1985). In 1987, Packwood crossed party lines to vote against the nomination of Robert Bork to the Supreme Court, and he was one of only two Republicans to vote against the nomination of Clarence Thomas to the court. Both votes were based on the nominee's opposition to abortion rights  compared to Republicans who spend most of their time trying to pass legislation to force woman to submit to vaginal ultra-sound in order to get an abortion.

Bill Maher isn't a party leader or elected official.

It's getting to the point where they can just run ads against "Republicans."  Not any particular Republicans.  Just Republicans in general.

"Would you entrust your toddler to a member of NAMBLA, even if he'd never molested a child in his life?  No, of course not, because he's affiliated with NAMBLA . . .

Then why would you entrust your government to a Republican?"

But really, don't you dare insult anyone... If you're a Republican.

It seemed he could trust them, not so much not to hurt him, but to be what they were, what they appeared. He could not at first put a word to it, this sense of personal unity. Then it came to him. Oh. So that's what integrity looks like.

from Lois McMaster Bujold's novel Mirror Dance
And this is exactly what a lack of integrity looks like...

FTA: "If the Republican Party wants to know why they have such a hard time connecting with young women, they should start by examining the very public way their leaders feel about young working women," said executive director Pat Davis.

The GOP needs to either develop integrity, or get a hell of a lot better at faking it. Meanwhile, they're in trouble.

Bob Cornelius, the county Republican party's former executive director, replied to Kush's "nice boots" remark Tuesday by insinuating that Evans is a prostitute. "Maybe she uses those shoes to walk Central," he wrote under Kush's post, referring to a street that is notorious for prostitution. "Even in this economy she can exchange bumper cables for boots."

I think most conservatives are primarily motivated by jealously and impotence. Especially when it comes to sex. Young hot people having sex and enjoying it while they can't explains a myriad of social wedge issues.
