Leaving bareheaded.

Suspect is hatless. I repeat, hatless.

Republicans like to portray themselves as hardworking, polite, well-mannered everymen\women. I would very much like to meet one of these Republicans, to ask them how it feels to have ridden unicorns to school as children and play with mermaids in their spare time.

Was it this woman?

That hat is like so radical, man.

How dare she advocate for something that would help everyone!  That's counter to Republican efforts to sabotage the economy and blame the results on the Blah president!

This kind of stuff doesn't surprise me at all. What does surprise me is that there are women out there who see/hear this stuff and still vote for these bastards.

Esc7: How does advocating for raising the min wage make someone a radical? Especially a 19 year old someone? The subtext is that her "nice hat" means she has a better job than minimum wage so....she loses her argument?

Christ what an asshole.

She works for Working America, which is the AFL-CIO's grassroots organizing group.  I assume this douchebag was aware of that, but even without the evil union thug* connection, yeah, that's what passes for radical to these people.  Class warfare blah blah blah goddamn I'm tired of this crap.

FWIW last I knew (friend worked for them in 2010 iirc) they did pay above minimum wage, plus health/dental/benefits.  So yeah, there's some pocket change to get a nice hat at the fair

Oh nonono. Let the laughably transparent righteous indignation FLOW from the left.

It's all they do, really.

Isn't it odd how the lefties on Fark can produce a seemingly endless list of examples of elected Republicans saying and doing racist and sexist things, but you can only say "both sides are bad" without pulling up any specific instances of them doing it too?

It's not like the right doesn't have organizations and websites that scour everything liberals say and do to find something to be outraged about. Why not pull up an example of an elected Democrat saying something equally as vulgar and childish to a Republican activist? Surely there must be hundreds of examples you can find easily.

Yesterday a Republican dark money group got caught photoshopping all the minorities out of the stock photos in their mailers. They're not the biggest name in conservative politics, but surely leftwing groups do the exact same thing all the time, right?

Nah, split-tails have never liked being called skirts, but dame is okay.

Even I know not to refer to a female human with the same term I might legitimately apply to a female dog.

(Unless of course I know that human, know that she's done something deeply hurtful and have no intention of ever withdrawing the epithet.)

Well our members certainly don't want to see a dark skinned woman in a hoodie standing with all those white folks. Better be safe and copypaste the face of the white guy standing next to her so there's two people side by side with the exact same face. Also lose the black guy. If anyone notices, it's because they're the racist!

I too would like to see some concrete examples of the left being as racist and sexist as the right.

The examples must be as current and of equal caliber as the examples from the right--so no trotting out Senator Byrd from his glory days as a KKK Wizard, for instance, and comparisons of Bill Maher (a comedian and TV pundit) and Mitt Romney (former Governor of Massachusetts and one-time Presidential candidate) will not do.

Let's see some actual examples where a currently elected Democrat official was as blatantly racist or sexist as the current crop of Republican officials. Consider the gauntlet thrown.

This is what the GOP is... Angry, white men lashing out at any one or group who isn't part of their rapidly decreasing demographic. I can't even get angry anymore. The GOP is just pathetic.

Bet this clown is a big hit with the ladies, though.

They're still pretty racist, just not in the blatantly insulting way.

Look at their treatment of anything racial with kid gloves, followed by asking their black/gay/female friend what they think about it, because interracial empathy is impossible.
Look at them turning a blind eye to any kind of discrimination that comes from a minority.
Look at their attempts to create racially proportionate city councils. There's a black seat in mine. There's a black seat and a hispanic seat in Austin.
Look at farking immigration FFS.
Look at Obama appointing the first ___ secretary or the first ____ director of bureaucracy.

This would be the same group that cheered when a Democrat went off on a racist insulting tirade against somebody who sent an email to him asking him to support various 2nd Amendment issues.

But really, don't you dare insult anyone... If you're a Republican.

"Nice boots. I wonder if she walks Central in them?" (referring to a street notorious for prostitutes.)

He did explain that these comments were from his personal twitter account not official tweets from his office.

That makes it 100% OK, and, actually, as I'm soon will soon be pointed out, Republicans are the real victims here, due to liberals jumping on every tiny thing ready to take offense.

Yeah, and it was REALLY bad Photoshop as well.  For a black woman in a hoodiein the picture, they copied the face of the woman standing next to her (who was white) and clumsily pasted it over the black woman's face.

It seemed he could trust them, not so much not to hurt him, but to be what they were, what they appeared. He could not at first put a word to it, this sense of personal unity. Then it came to him. Oh. So that's what integrity looks like.

from Lois McMaster Bujold's novel Mirror Dance
And this is exactly what a lack of integrity looks like...

FTA: "If the Republican Party wants to know why they have such a hard time connecting with young women, they should start by examining the very public way their leaders feel about young working women," said executive director Pat Davis.

The GOP needs to either develop integrity, or get a hell of a lot better at faking it. Meanwhile, they're in trouble.
