I am long for the days when there were Republicans like Bob Packwood.

No no, it's a typo! What he meant was:

"Nice hat working america chick but damn, you are radical, biatch!"

Maybe he was reaching out to the rap community.

Bob Cornelius, the county Republican party's former executive director, replied to Kush's "nice boots" remark Tuesday by insinuating that Evans is a prostitute. "Maybe she uses those shoes to walk Central," he wrote under Kush's post, referring to a street that is notorious for prostitution. "Even in this economy she can exchange bumper cables for boots."

Stay classy!

What the man meant to say was no drone would be used against her hat until it was proven guilty in a court of law.

Unless the hat was coming out of a liquor store with a weapon and $50. Then, by all means, blowed it up real good.

Well how dare he... He should learn from liberals, who would never use a racist or sexist term to refer to any woman they disagree with... Except every chance they get.

This would be the same group that cheered when a Democrat went off on a racist insulting tirade against somebody who sent an email to him asking him to support various 2nd Amendment issues.

But really, don't you dare insult anyone... If you're a Republican.

The issue here isn't so much about what was said (teenage girls say far more horrible things to each other than Kush did), but that he was farking dumb enough to TWEET it. I think it's stupid when Bill Maher calls someone a "coont," too. Or twat. Whatever it was, it broke decorum even if I think he was correct in his estimation.

If a guy like me can drink almost a fifth of Johnnie Walker and still manage not to make an ass of myself online - using my REAL NAME and title, no less - how much trust would you have in his calling shots for the party?

What I mean is that while we all say dumb sh*t on Fark, none of us are dumb enough to use real names when we're the chair of a major party for the county. I.e., if you're that absent-minded, you have no business coordinating a trip to Old Country Buffet, let alone politics. At least Weiner's texts were private (though also dumb).

Yeah, that wasn't the best example I could have used.

Still, comments like that can have other consequences, such as advertising or general backlash. In Maher's case, I'm pretty sure his target audience did think Palin was a twat, but it was still kind of risky when there are a million other ways to say it.

First, I am certain that Republican women will come to this guy's defense assuring others that she was in fact a biatch and that the he is being oppressed AND "that his first amendment rights are being violated".
Secondly, somehow all this is okay and righteous because Jesus.

I think most conservatives are primarily motivated by jealously and impotence. Especially when it comes to sex. Young hot people having sex and enjoying it while they can't explains a myriad of social wedge issues.

"Chelsey Evans, stood in line to testify on the proposal, Kush disparaged her on his Facebook page.

I stand corrected. It's difficult to discern which asshole represents the GOP position on women.

Bill Maher isn't a party leader or elected official.

She works for Working America, which is the AFL-CIO's grassroots organizing group.  I assume this douchebag was aware of that, but even without the evil union thug* connection, yeah, that's what passes for radical to these people.  Class warfare blah blah blah goddamn I'm tired of this crap.

FWIW last I knew (friend worked for them in 2010 iirc) they did pay above minimum wage, plus health/dental/benefits.  So yeah, there's some pocket change to get a nice hat at the fair

Isn't it odd how the lefties on Fark can produce a seemingly endless list of examples of elected Republicans saying and doing racist and sexist things, but you can only say "both sides are bad" without pulling up any specific instances of them doing it too?

It's not like the right doesn't have organizations and websites that scour everything liberals say and do to find something to be outraged about. Why not pull up an example of an elected Democrat saying something equally as vulgar and childish to a Republican activist? Surely there must be hundreds of examples you can find easily.

Yesterday a Republican dark money group got caught photoshopping all the minorities out of the stock photos in their mailers. They're not the biggest name in conservative politics, but surely leftwing groups do the exact same thing all the time, right?

Well our members certainly don't want to see a dark skinned woman in a hoodie standing with all those white folks. I too would like to see some concrete examples of the left being as racist and sexist as the right.

The examples must be as current and of equal caliber as the examples from the right--so no trotting out Senator Byrd from his glory days as a KKK Wizard, for instance, and comparisons of Bill Maher (a comedian and TV pundit) and Mitt Romney (former Governor of Massachusetts and one-time Presidential candidate) will not do.

Let's see some actual examples where a currently elected Democrat official was as blatantly racist or sexist as the current crop of Republican officials. Consider the gauntlet thrown.

They're still pretty racist, just not in the blatantly insulting way.

Look at their treatment of anything racial with kid gloves, followed by asking their black/gay/female friend what they think about it, because interracial empathy is impossible.
Look at them turning a blind eye to any kind of discrimination that comes from a minority.
Look at their attempts to create racially proportionate city councils. There's a black seat in mine. There's a black seat and a hispanic seat in Austin.
Look at farking immigration FFS.
Look at Obama appointing the first ___ secretary or the first ____ director of bureaucracy.

It seemed he could trust them, not so much not to hurt him, but to be what they were, what they appeared. He could not at first put a word to it, this sense of personal unity. Then it came to him. Oh. So that's what integrity looks like.

from Lois McMaster Bujold's novel Mirror Dance
And this is exactly what a lack of integrity looks like...

FTA: "If the Republican Party wants to know why they have such a hard time connecting with young women, they should start by examining the very public way their leaders feel about young working women," said executive director Pat Davis.

The GOP needs to either develop integrity, or get a hell of a lot better at faking it. Meanwhile, they're in trouble.
