Oh yes, the Keystone Pipeline. The one that they've already admitted will send no oil to the United States, will hire no workers from the United States but will require land from homeowners across multiple states and lots of taxpayer payouts just to send oil to... China. If I didn't know better the GOP were communist sympathizers.

Politicians vs. Impersonator
Politician vs. Poster
Actor and Retired Politician vs. Chair

The War on Straw will get out of control, and we'll be lucky to live through it.

he likened himself to a soldier in the Battle of the Alamo

He is aware that the defenders of the Alamo lost, right?
Also... is he aware that the people in the Alamo were a bunch of a-holes fighting for their "right" to keep slaves in Mexico even though it was illegal in that country?

lennavan: So Sanford's a farking joke but I do find it pretty shiatty that they're only going to have one debate.  I'd really like to see elections go in the direction of less advertisements and speeches and more debates.

It's a House seat. They're already having one more debate than most people will bother to watch.

MattStafford: Did anyone mention how we're laughing about the fact that we lock allbut two parties out of our national debates? And that those two parties hold amazingly similar positions with regards to wars, ccorporatism, civil liberties, et al?

I guess it's fair because one side wants gay marriage and the other doesn't. That pretty much covers all the important issues.

The "Libertarian" party is just as bad as the Republicans. Sure, they're less socially conservative, but they're even happier to let corporations fark everyone in the pursuit of profit. Being able to smoke weed isn't really worth returning to the Gilded Age.

The only other party that's even CLOSE to viable is the Green party, and while I do agree with many of their positions, they're far too weak as a party. They need to build support at the local levels before going national, but they don't seem to realize that.

Confronting an effigy of your opponent is farking creepy as all hell.
Going to set it on fire and dance around the ashes next?

I'd rather not have that much insight into your tribalistic and primitive thought processes.
It's less depressing to think that you're just a vicious sociopath rather than an ignorant twat.

I like that the GOP has latched on to this strategy. They are admitting that they can only argue with their own imaginations.

Karac: The GOP primaries had, what 50? debates.  And did you learn a single thing from ANY of them that you didn't already know?

There was a number of illuminating moments during the debates for people who just say "both sides are bad" and otherwise tune out of the process. Seeing an entire stage of presidential contenders reject a 10:1 spending cut to revenue increase deal as "too liberal" must have been eye opening. Also the booing of gay soldiers.

And none of them know why.

A debate is just a speech

Depends on the format, the debaters themselves and the moderator.  Joe Biden wiped the farking floor with Paul Ryan.

Is there some sort of bet among GOP members where the person who does the absolute stupidest thing wins the pot? It sure seems like it.
