Gool?

The funniest Andres Cantor comment I've ever seen was on YouTube, of all places. One guy wrote "I liked the part where he said "GOOOOOOOOAL!"

The beautiful response was "No, he's speaking Spanish. He said 'GOOOOOOOOOOL!'"

I know this is about the Spanish language broadcasts, but I like the way the English call a match. Quiet, understated, don't feel the need to fill all the empty space, will flat out say if somebody sucks.

Martin Tyler or GTFO.

The GOOOOL thing is overdone for me.  I want to hear the crowd flipping its mind on a late goal.  I don't need an announcer putting himself over.

I agree; but as someone that saw the 90 and 94 WC when Andres was lead commentator on the Spanish broadcast, this is awesome.

Martin Tyler or GTFO.

This.

And that's how Cantor calls matches. Except of course when somebody scores, then he becomes Gus Johnson when Gus announces a made free throw, a player substitution, a two-yard rush, going to the bathroom, etc.
