Stand up dude!! 90% of American would be crying that the Fed owes them a newer, better boat all while being a attention whore.
I would proudly buy this guy a case of his favorite beer.

There IS hope for humanity.

That's...

Aw.  I hope he gets all the donations to the victims he wants, PLUS a new boat.

Not just a boat, but a boat AND a tarp!

And he'd probably give that beer to the first responders.

I literally had this conversation via text with my mom yesterday. Good to hear that our cynicism is unwarranted.

I don't doubt some enterprising boat company will jump on this opportunity to donate a new boat to this guy and garner the free publicity and massive PR benefit that comes along.

If I owned a boat company, I would on this like white on rice.

/or like blood on the poop deck

He should buy one.

2013-04-24 11:49:28 AM
He probably has insurance on it, so he isn't very worried about it. Insurance for my boat is like 90 bucks a year so if he doesn't have insurance it's dumb.

2013-04-24 11:49:30 AM
Sure, he won't take the donations, but if people were to pool money together and just show up one day with a new boat, will he really say no?

2013-04-24 11:50:37 AM
They did buy him a new boat but Tsarnaev ran it over with the truck.

Man that kid CANNOT drive.

He made a comment on local media yesterday that he had a perfectly good canoe in the garage.  Good guy.

Came to say he's gotta have insurance.  Not sure if this type of damage would require a special rider though.

Dude's not a hero, but he is one solid stand up guy.

BTW, if you want to give him a boat...give him mine.  Know how to get a small fortune?

Start off with a large fortune and buy a boat.  Worst money pit I've ever owned.

Hard to say since he stored it on his own property maybe homeowners would cover it?

/I have a storage rider on my Cessna but it is stored at the airport not my home.

I've heard that some insurance companies do have stipulations that they won't cover any damage done by police, etc. But seriously, what insurance company would want to pull that in this instance? Major PR no no, in my opinion.

This.  Excluding CNN and the Federal Government, America has  been revealed to be a very brave and loving people in light of this attack.  I am very proud to call the first responders, the onsite civilians that helped and the runners that immediate went to the hospital to donate blood.

Strong rooted are the people of Boston.

Dont think the insurer would deny the claim though, that would be really bad pr

I wonder if this guy's wife is very excited about his refusal to take donations.

2013-04-24 11:56:05 AM
Good on the guy....

and I'm sure homeowners insurance or boat insurance will take care of the boat

Are you hiding under the tarp in the boat?

Made me chuckle.

They say the two happiest days in a man's life are the day he buys his boat, and the day he sells it.

The first symbolizes acheiving the financial success necessary to purchase a boat.

The second, the end of the cash suck that is boat ownership.

Sadly, I bet he will have to move. With his address plastered all over news media (not much they could do to avoid that) his house will be a farking tourist attraction for a long while.

Still, Good on ya Yankee!

Buying this guy a new boat has got to be cheaper than all the cancelled policies that would result from refusing to pay out.

He was probably glad to get rid of it, amirite boat owners?

Get the guys at Boston Whaler to donate one.  As far as I can tell you could plug one of those with 200 rounds and the stupid thing would still float fine.

The two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day he buys the boat, and the day he sells the boat.

I'm willing to bet that the day the boat gets shot up and blown to hell by the FBI HRT squad ranks pretty high up there as well.
