(IndyStar)   Indiana University sorority is under fire for throwing a homeless party. No, it wasn't a party for the homeless, it was a party where they dressed up like homeless people. "Give me a nickel and I'll tickle your pickle"   ( divider line

Future bankers, I guess?

Lemme get this straight - some 18-21 year old university kids did something stupid? Say it ain't so.

Hold on, I got a nickel here somewhere...

I dressed up as a homeless dude for Halloween my sophomore year of undergrad. Had a sign saying "Will work for food" that eventually got changed to "Will fark for food" by the end of the night. Everyone agreed I had one of the better costumes there.

It's a good thing Red Skelton is dead or he might be arrested for his "Freddy the Freeloader" skit.

its in poor taste but hardly worth national news. compared to a lot of the stupid theme parties we see this one is actually not that bad

This is hilarious because South Dakota State University has Hobo Days for their homecoming. They have for 100 years. Students dress as hobos and go door to door for free meals and drinks (only at houses with lights on). It's a week of hobo debauchery. The first car in the Hobo Day Parade is called the Bummobile.

The only butt hurt someone should be feeling over this, is if they passed out in one of the back rooms during the party.

Repeat.  Again.

I find that I have even less moral outrage (which was exactly zero) than I did the first time this was green-lighted.

This is what you get when a population needs to pronounce every letter of every word before they understand it.

More like: "Gimme a tipple and I'll show you my nipple!", amirite?

But seriously; over-privileged biatches abound. Though it should be noted that this kind of crap is usually the purview of frats.

Those wacky, zany kids just crack me up.

It would have been in poor taste if they had actually invited homeless people to the party to make fun of them. Being that there were no homeless people actually there to have their feelings hurt it was not in poor taste at all.

What IS in poor taste is a media outlet putting it in the news to hurt homeless peoples feelings.

If throwing hobo parties is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Not nearly as bad as the mortgage firm that had the party where they dressed up as foreclosure victims.

The girls smudged fake dirt on their faces, donned cutoff denim shorts, tank tops and plaid shirts. They then made cardboard placards with statements such as, "Why lie: It's for booze" and "Give me a nickel and I'll tickle your pickle," according to a report in the online magazine Jezebel.

Cutoff denim shorts, tank tops and plaid shirts? In Lexington, KY that's how hookers dress. And, weather permitting, ordinary women who are not undergrads. (They wear boots, sheer leggings, and shirts too short to cover their cute young pudendums & buttcheeks.)

Color me confused.

Why does this bother anyone?

doubled99: Why does this bother anyone?

Comfortable, over-privileged people mocking -  for their own petty amusement - the plight of the least of their countrymen, whom their country does remarkably little to help... Why would such a thing bother a person?

Not impressed
