"Wii would like to play!"
"Run you fools! It's Nintendo!"

The improved exchange rate helped, I'd imagine.

The article says that the 3DS is selling weaker than expected, but I can see it picking up steam. It's starting to get a pretty good library of games.

/Luigi's Mansion 2 is great.

Last two systems (3DS and Wii U) were not received well but I'm still surprised that they are in the black.

/have ps3, wii, and xbox360
//not planning on ever purchasing a wii u.

since the Wii hacks work on the Wii U in wii mode, I'm probably going to pick one up soon. I keep to retire the week, keep the old hacks and old games, and try out some new titles when I get a chance. It may not be great, but it wouldn't be a big investment into a bunch of accessories that I'll never use and have to stack on top of a pile of existing consoles.

See, I'm the same way with the 3DS. The DS hacks still work, and I have a few of the 3DS games I want, and don't have to deal with the old DS. I'll have to try Luigi's Mansion

Sales would probably be better if they actually made some games for the Wii U.

I'll have to get that, as I've already played the meager scraps they've put out. Maybe Mario kart 2 or link to the past?

My Wii will remain in use until a means is devised for playing GameCube games on the Wii U, whether in vWii mode or otherwise. Devolution works to load games, but the lack of GameCube controller support renders them unplayable regardless.

I'm betting Pokemon later on in the year is going to give them a nice boost in sales. That's why I bought mine; Fire Emblem is doing a great job of giving me something to play in the meantime.

I just picked up a Wii U last week.  It's a great system, looking forward to some first party exclusives.

I mean, has a single game been released since the initial launch line?

The new monster hunter was released recently. Great game, but its just a remake of the Wii version.

Lego City is pretty much Grand Theft Lego, has a farkton of content and is frequently hilarious.  It's also practically a 1st party title due to all the Nintendo people in the credits, so it won't be showing up anywhere else.

Steam on a 3DS? That's crazy talk.

I'm surprised there isn't one already, if only to make its style consistent with the 3DS XL.

And it's too bad the 3DS version of Virtue's Last Reward has a save-eating bug that Aksys has been "looking into" without results for a long time.  I'll be a little more cautious about picking up their titles at launch from now on.

Getting a Wii U for Earthbound and Smash Brothers.

Not right now, though.

I dig both my Wii U and 3DS. I'm currently playing Etrian Odyssey IV, cannot wait for Shin Megami Tensei IV to come out in the summer, downloaded Kirby's Adventure, Punch Out, and F-Zero for 0.30 a piece for the virtual console and am salivating over getting to play Earthbound on a console rather than as a ROM.

Also, the Wii released one of the greatest games I've ever played before: Xenoblade Chronicles. It was nice to upgrade after the optical drive on my Wii took a dump and still be able to play Xenoblade on it (The Last Story was cool too).

If you haven't seen the trailer for "X" then you really should. If you like JRPGs, that should give you a few wet dreams.

The Wii U is a nice console. And bonus! You can play used games on it, and you don't HAVE to be online all the time.

It's also pretty cool to turn off the TV and finish your game of Mario Bros. or watch a Netflix movie on the controller's screen.

I'll get one again when the price drops to around $200.  Right now it's too much.

I think this will be the generation of consoles where Nintendo's "sell last-gen hardware for lowered costs" strategy finally comes to bite them in the ass. Both the new PlayStation and Xbox are x64-based, meaning that game developers won't be limited as much on how much they can cross over with more powerful PC platforms.

You can't push hardware that's underpowered to the point that it doesn't allow the porting of popular games, and Nintendo has done that far too often. I got an Xbox 360 last summer. It was my first non-Nintendo console, and the Wii will likely be my last.
