Just do 105 laps on a standard 1/4 mile track.

To be fair, they do have the option of making it a marathon run with a bonus rock climb:

Or they could have a nice break while waiting in the cattle chutes.

Don't forget running through tear gas clouds and dodging bulldozers.  In a Tough Mudder thread on the sports tab.  Puts a whole new perspective on it.

If the Palestinians had adopted non-violent resistance, they would have had a state 40 years ago. I don't feel that bad for them. They made their bed, they can lie in it. becuase they sure can't run a marathon in it lololololo!!!

Maybe use the tunnels they need for when their racist neighbors cut off basic goods?

Everyone has to run in wearing a Suicide Vest with a timer set to 3 hours.

What? That's an hour over the world record. Still, Im betting it would end up looking like this.

If they had another option besides the Palestinian Authority, which had a vested interest in maintaining instability, they'd have had a better shot.  A moderate Palestinian government together with a non-reactionary or provocative Israeli government may have accomplished a lot.

As always, I'd prefer to blame the people in charge, rather than Joe the baker that's just trying to feed his family.  And I don't assume he has any more control than I do over my government.

Don't care. Hold the marathon in London. Or Iowa. Or Jordan.

According to COGAT, "The request of 26 Gaza residents to take part in the Bethlehem marathon was examined by the relevant authorities and it was decided to reject the request because it does not fall within the determined criteria for crossing from Gaza to the West Bank."

The only time Gaza residents can travel to the West Bank, where their fellow estranged Palestinians reside, is only if there is an exceptional humanitarian reason or an urgent medical issue.

OK, that sounds like it should violate some kind of international law.  Freedom of movement or something.

I'm sure the Israelis would have been just as successful working non-violently for an Israeli state in 1948. Sure. And the East Timorese, and the Founders of the US, and every other group that has ever formed an independent state in the history of mankind.

Even India had lots of violent revolutionaries besides the non-violent ones we read about.

It violates many, but that doesn't matter as long as they have the US's unconditional support, which they will forever

I heard that the Palestinians have air, like our American negroes have refrigeration, proof they are not as downtrodden as they make out to be.

No decent people could support this, let alone encourage it. America is infected.

Any time peace looks certain, Israel will step in to ensure it breaks. I'd bet my eye teeth that more than one "Hamas rocket" was not actually fired by Hamas, just as the Poles didn't really attack a German radio station, but you need some place to start your BS narrative.

Why stop there? I bet the entire population of Palestinians are really just especially dark Israelis wearing  keffiyeh's and having terrible tantrums while pretending to be arab just to make them look bad. Yasser Arafat was a particularly ornery Jew from Brooklyn named Max Goldbergstein.

We've had plenty of governments who were ready to do such a thing with them. The current government is a center-left coalition who wants to do just that. They refuse to even negotiate with us unless we pre-agree to all of their terms.

Karac: OK, that sounds like it should violate some kind of international law. Freedom of movement or something.

Yeah international law doesn't work based on your gut instinct. No country has the obligation to allow people to cross its borders.

Critique: You really need to drive the point home that the Jews do not DESERVE ANY land.  Obviously, Catholics can have the Vatican.  The Muslims can have Mecca in Saudi Arabia.  The Jews though, fark them!  Nothing can belong to them.

Ryant123, you are not really accepting Insatiable-Haters "I bet my eye teeth" ambiguous feeling that Jews create their own terror as TRUTH?!  I mean, seriously... how do you treat people how say that 9/11 was perpetrated by America?  That's essentially what he just said, buy change it to Israel.

Do you believe that line of anti-Semitic hate when you change Israelis to Americans?

Would actually be pretty cool if they could organize a half-marathon in Gaza and the other half in Israel. There are almost as many Israeli/Palestinian peace groups as there are Fark threads on the conflict, and apart from the security nightmare, it'd be a hell of a statement.

I guess the Arabs were annoyed by bunch of European colonists dictating their future. Besides the division plan was never implemented or really accepted by the Jews either. Britts didn't want to force the issue. They had nothing to gain from it.

Stopping or hindering of peaceful activities like a marathon is just disappointing no matter who is doing it.

Except that it's a myth that most of the Jews who moved to Israel were 'a bunch of European colonists' and has nothing to do with reality.

FlameDuck: Besides the division plan was never implemented or really accepted by the Jews either.

This is absolutely false, we declared a State on the basis of the Partition Plan in 1948 after the UN passed it.

FlameDuck: Britts didn't want to force the issue. They had nothing to gain from it.

Actually they tried really hard to stop the State from existing in the first place

You clearly need to brush up on your history.
