Those who are pure in soul will know where to find the music they seek.

SockMonkeyHolocaust: It's actually kind of sad that these things live and die at the behest of major labels instead of using content from the million and one unsigned bands/music makers out there that would love the exposure.

Of course, that would take a listening public that doesn't fear the unfamiliar and actually well-produced music that isn't terrible for content.

Eh, there are others that make that type of thing work. PureVolume, ReverbNation, SoundCloud

just to name a few

I also vaguely remember one from ~mid 00's but can't think of it. I believe it had "corner" in the name.

I gave Spotify an honest chance, but it just farking refused to play music I like.  I didn't have to spend nearly as much time training Pandora to play music I like.  With Grooveshark, there was no f*cking training, it let me just pick music I like and listen to it.  And, like others upthread, I've bought at least three or four albums directly because I had listened to them on Grooveshark.  There have also been some songs/albums that I love on Grooveshark, but iTunes and other services didn't even have them for sale.

Errrm Spotify has the option to just pick/play music you like as well.

Uh, you don't have to train Spotify.  You just search for your band and album and listen to it.  Just like Grooveshark.  Unless you just want to listen to singles.  I have no idea how to do that because I have no interest in it.

On the sidebar to the left Create playlist -> name it

Afterwards as you are browsing through music; find song -> right click -> add to [playlist]

BolloxReader: I'll admit to that myself, I have a trilogy of scripts that I am trying to get independent funding for because there is no way in hell I'm turning it over to them for the Hollywood treatment

You tell it what you want to listen to.   How is this hard exactly?

So they can't make it up on volume.

Does he need more venture capital?

Really unfortunate, I actually listen to grooveshark everyday. It was nice to have the ability to build playlists based off what you were in the mood for that day. Are there any other services that let you build playlists like that?
