That... sounds disgusting.

Someone left some orangish tasting pale ale in my fridge after a cookout this past weekend... tried it last night. Yuck.

Is this a thread where all the beer snobs/hipsters come in and post pictures of their favorite beer that none of us have probably ever heard about? Oh Goody we never had one of these before.

2013-04-23 09:58:11 AM
Every chick on the sandbar this summer will probably be drinking this swill too.

2013-04-23 09:58:51 AM
So this guy saw these and was like "hey these look good, but I'm worried what other people will think, maybe if I drink it ironically then it won't be so gay".

Was at a gathering this weekend where they had some of these, didn't venture to try them however.  The people drinking them weren't complaining.

How dare they break into your house put a gun to your head and force you to read the thread.

It's going to be consumed almost entirely by high-schoolers and sorority girls, two groups of people almost exclusively known for their impeccable taste and good decision making skills.

There is nothing I enjoy more after a hard day of work than a piping hot glass of Bud Light Ranch.  Taste the crisp seasonings and watch your worries fade away.

2013-04-23 10:01:10 AM
Then my seven-year-old walked by and I got her to try some too. Don't judge me. I'd much rather have her downing STRAW-ber-RITAs responsibly at the house than experimenting with her friends. THAT'S PARENTING 101, PEOPLE.

She took a sip, then stuck out her thumb and pointed it sideways. She rates food Ebert-style.

A friend brought these along on a fishing trip a while back. I threw back a few beers ahead of time before trying one, and still couldn't enjoy it. Your assessment is spot on, and the thought-puking is still with me when I hear about this swill.

Sorry, but there are two facts in life:

1. Duke sucks.
2. "Brewed in WI" means it's actually human piss. Even the supposedly greatest American brewery (they claim) New Glarus is just massively-hyped Schlitz in a bottle.

Never had that, but a red beer in the Summer isn't bad. Cheap lager and tomato juice is actually pretty refreshing in the middle of a hot day.

2013-04-23 10:21:23 AM
Sounds less horrible than I thought, since it used the Bud Light label and all I was afraid it was actually strawberry flavored beer. Essentially it's a Strawberry version of Mikes Hard Lemonade. Not for me but sounds like a decent portable chick drink. Sure if we're at home making real Margarita's would be preferable but these are more for travel/picnic drinking.

2013-04-23 10:25:14 AM
I had bud lite lime at some point.

It tasted like carbonated koolaid to me. Still got me drunk, but too much like a wine cooler for me. I'd imagine the red version is the same. Wasn't impressed, but then again I unironically drank Pabst. Or bud lite. Because when you just want to get drunk, fast and cheap are the priority. I appreciated good brews and drank whiskey straight occasionally too.

Not a beer hipster, though I do like to try the microbrews and prefer beers that you can't see through.

That said, when it comes to mass market American beers, Yuengling and Fat Tire are both pretty good.

Though I admit, I am planning to get a 64oz growler of this:

while i prefer "real" beer and "real" margaritas, if i go to a club/bar, 99% of the time it's to see a band, not to hang out with friends and get drunk...so if i feel like having a beer it's normally bud lite. i can drink 2 or 3 of those inexpensively...it actually quenches thirst and doesn't give me so much as a buzz. it's beer-flavored soda pop.

so, out of sheer convenience and curiosity i picked up a large (16 or 20 oz???) can of bud lite's lime-a-rita one night on my way home from work. i'm hooked. if you like margarita, but want an ultraconvenient alternative, it's pretty good. so, for about $3 once in a while i get a margarita fix quickly.

All I know is that it tasted good cold, and since Natty Boh is owned by Pabst, that might explain why it is
so drinkable.

/Was into drinking Pabst before it became the hipster tipple of choice.

The corner store owned and ran by Latin american people and almost exclusively deal with a Latin american clientele, is a bodega.
the 7-11, is NOT a bodega

if you are calling the 7-11 a bodega, then you are a douche.

This stuff?

farm3.static.flickr.com

Not so much. But at the same time if you complain about your drinks being made with sour mix or a bottle mix why would you even try this stuff. After all they are trying to reach a certain ABV, while having a shelf stable product, that's always going to equal a bunch of preservatives that legally requires quotes around everything "real lime flavor" or in this case the good old catch all "natural flavor"

As a former Baltimoron, yikes. Sure they practically pay you to leave the store with it, but it still feels overpriced somehow.
