5:47 seconds too long.

Yeah, being a 'good sport' about it doesn't make it any less stupid

it took less than half a second for me to decide not to watch that video.

Yeah... that wasn't a sharp sword. He clearly dragged the "blade" over his wrist while ineffectually dodging fruit there, and didn't even draw blood.

I think the tag was not for the fruit ninja fail but for dragging the video out so long. And even shortened into a 5 or 10 second clip it really wasn't that entertaining.

Well, a pineapple could easily be made into a good siege weapon.

The force of the watermelon against the end of the sword pushed the dull side into his face, causing the cut. That was really, really lame.

I don't get it.
Why didn't he just chop all the fruit in half as it flew toward him, thereby avoiding personal injury?

Filling the core with Napalm in fun on a cold fall evening.

His name is Ryan Higa, aka NigaHiga on Youtube. He's a frikkin big deal, with over 7.6 MILLION YouTube subscribers at 1.38 BILLION collective views. When we had him and other Asian YouTubers at our film festival in LA, the line of people to see them went two blocks down Sunset Blvd.

And no, you cannot have your 5 minutes back since apparently YouTube and the rest of the world bills this as quality entertainment.

Apparently he didn't take John Cleese's crash course on how to defend yourself against fresh fruit

Hey kids, swords aren't toys.  Several very well trained experts have injured themselves with their own swords.  One 6th or 7th dan iaido practitioner took his thumb off.  People have cut their noses, ears, hands, heads, etc., and these people actually had years of experience.  Your dweeb self is going to be lucky to keep all your blood in your body.

Swords are dangerous, durrrrrr.

When I saw the headline, I thought maybe the QVC host who broke his sword on-air decided to give it another go.

In all fairness, practicing noto with a live blade really is asking for it. But yeah, swords are no joke.

Anyway, here's the stupidest thing I've ever seen done with a live blade. Not safe for sqeamish, but the guy lived.

In other news, morons performing hazardous, ill-advised stunts are often injured.

DjangoStonereaver: 5:47 seconds too long.

google gives more ad revenue for longer videos, if I recall correctly. The key is to pad everything at the expense of entertainment value.
