Looks like one terrible and desperate cash grab from the Men in Black concept.

The shirt thing makes sense, but that seems a bit of a stretch. Are we going to have a moratorium on films showing violence in Boston?

MiB meets Ghostbusters.  Meh, it might be fun.  Can't be worse than Green Lantern.

They should find the guy who wrote both the shirt and campaign. Clearly he has certain psychic powers he's wasting in copywriting.

Sure, because these shirts were totally tasteful before.

I blame the 10-year-old Vietnamese kid that made the shirt.

Listen the shirts were only originally making fun of the Bostonians who lost their lives when they stupidly defied the British and set in motion the events that would lead to American freedom from reliable, low-priced tea. It's tasteful because we didn't know the people involved.

If I ever get terminal cancer I'm going on an Inappropriate T-Shirt World Tour.

"Boston Massacre"
"I [mushroom cloud] Hiroshima"
"I [airplane] NY"
"Arby's Macht Fries" (at Auschwitz)

there are probably a few more that are so tasteless even I couldn't think of them....

/Also, I didn't think Green Lantern was all that bad. Certainly good enough for a "shut your brain off for a couple hours" type movie.

Because it was so tasteful before, you know when it was just referencing 5 civilians being killed by British soldiers.

I mean, I know that was over 200 years ago and all but it was still cool to spin it into a sports team reference.

I get the whole too soon thing, I just find it funny that it is all of a sudden tasteless even though it is derived from an actual violent event.

I think the difference is because it happened long before anyone now living was born. Everyone involved is long dead, and would be whether there was a massacre or not. I can't feel outraged over it any more than I can about Julius Caesar's assassination.

I was going to say something sarcastic about more people dying at the first one, but eerily both involved five actual deaths...

Well, in 490 BC, Pheidippides ran from Marathon to Athens to announce a bloody victory. He then collapsed and died. Now we use the name "marathon" for a sporting event.
Too soon!

The message was a plea for help, not a declaration of victory.  Why would someone run himself to death just to say everything is alright?

On the occasion of which I speak - when Pheidippides, that is, was sent on his mission by the Athenian commanders and said that he saw Pan - he reached Sparta the day after he left Athens and delivered his message to the Spartan government. "Men of Sparta" (the message ran), "the Athenians ask you to help them, and not to stand by while the most ancient city of Greece is crushed and subdued by a foreign invader; for even now Eretria has been enslaved, and Greece is the weaker by the loss of one fine city."

two episodes that dealt with pressure cookers.

I thought it was a tad insensitive.
