In 2008, the Register reported Reed spent tens of thousands of dollars on props, costumes and plastic surgery while acting as an Elvis impersonator. Reed goes by the stage name Micky King.

What is it with Elvis impersonators lately?

Maybe it started with these guys:

Sounds like you made a rational choice.

Don't eat there.

In Japan plenty of restaurants are still smoking friendly. Many aren't. Some are a blend. It's great.

When I went through nicotine withdrawal, on the second or third day, I sat and watched a marathon of How It's Made. I figured that was a safe option, until it started describing how CDs were pressed. During the CD inscribing process I started sobbing uncontrollably, and the ultimate release of those albums did nothing to stop the tears.

It was then that I realized what women go through on a near daily basis.

I quit smoking not because it was bad for me, but because I finally didn't want to spend $180 a month on cigarettes.

Damn, and here I was thinking about having a standoff with the police in the near future. Guess I'll have to quit smoking first.

I certainly hope they haven't employed similar tactics with strategically placed beer.

As an advocate of via negativa I approve of using a pack of smokes instead of sending a wave of armored police into a stable situation.

If you ever get a "suspect" holed up it's better to use robots and the scent of fresh pizza. Get some sleep, let the other side decide how it's going to live out it's days. Feel out an offer of gen pop versus isolation, some people would prefer isolation. And "god forbid you could commit suicide so we can't prosecute anyone"

The article said "officers had shot out two street lights closest to the house" ...

WTF?  Cops are firing their guns up in the air in a populated area?

Wonder how many magazines they emptied before hitting the two lights.

I remember when you could smoke in grocery stores, hospitals, theatres, laundromats, you name it. It was great before the Pinkos & Commies took over.

Raider_dad: HAHA !  smokers.

This.
However not mentioned, the pack of cigarettes was a lie.  I bet they never let him even smoke 'em.  He couldn't have smoked them when they first tazed him, he can't smoke at the hospital and I won't be surprised he didn't get them back at the county jail.  Once criminals find out the cig's are a lie, the cops won't be able to pull a peaceful end to a standoff again.  Thanks SWAT idiots, and you wonder why you are not trusted.

/If they were smart, promise the guy a whole carton to lay down on the lawn for them
//have the carton actually given to him
///That sounds like better negotiations, no one is hurt senselessly

Except that nicotine is like oxygen to cig smokers.  It will always be worth the chance.

I like how they decided to shoot out the street lights during the day over just pulling the panels and unplugging. Not hard to park a swat van in front of them.
But f*** that!
Shoot into the air and take those evil lights out. Dont worry about ricochets or missed rounds hitting someone!
This is murica!

Yes, all the Elvis impersonators are going insane.

As the prophecies foretold.
