seadoo2006: Islamic militants are the very definition of conspiracy theorists, which is why conspiracy theorists in general often blur the line between utterly stupid and monumentally dangerous. Make no mistake - the same folks that scream this a false flag are the same folks who believe in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and that 9/11 was orchestrated by George Bush and/or Mossad. Alex Jones and the vast majority of fundie clerics are similar in this regard. The only difference is that Islamists back up their delusions by killing people, and these other folks back up their delusions by killing people's brain cells.

This. And, of course, there are too many people anyway.
So it doesn't really matter.
Cholesterol will kill 1000 people for every one Islamic terrorism kills.

I blame Obama and/or Bush and their socialist and/or fascist agendas. Obama and/or Bush is trying to seize the government and become president for life. This is all a false flag operation by FEMA and/or DHS.

/am I doing it right?

I don't think it's a big deal, I think it's just a fact in this instance. If it were a big deal clearly the only thing to do would be some sweeping controls on those practicing Islam. Here is where people differ: Some are afraid to call out the Islamic factor for fear of offending the Islamic collective (looks at you), whereas others have no problem doing so because I trust other Muslims to not get butthurt over me simply acknowledging facts that happen to include their religion, and I won't patronize them collectively by withholding opinion for fear of some individuals taking offense.

As far as blowing up people for profit, I don't see Apple and Google blowing people up for profit. Blackwater USA, yeah I suppose they did blow people up for profit. How convenient that corporations are treated as individuals, we can judge them individually and not make worthless internet comments condemning all for-profit companies as a murderous collective - that'd be really 'conservative,' but I hear you're a 'liberal' that is pro-individual.

randomjsa: jso2897: When , exactly, did people who call themselves "conservatives" become collectivists? I thought that collectivism was the philosophy of the Communist Reds.
And yet, today, I see people who argue for individualism being called "Liberals". and those who argue that people should be evaluated as members of the collective to which they belong calling themselves "conservatives". Weird.
Ayn Rand described the racist, or religious or nationalist bigot as a "barnyard collectivist" - and yet, today, the American rightist seems PROUD of his barnyard collectivism. The mentality of a person who can tell people apart by "race", or religion - buit is unable to distinguish between individual human beings.
Odd.

There is no greater enemy to liberalism than individual rights.

The problem with that as I see it are that individuals, when concerned mainly about themselves as individuals tend to be, try to justify their actions by claiming to be standing up for me when they are in fact acting selfishly.

When you stick your hands over your ears, dismiss every common sense point and only agree with those who agree with you then well, we all have a problem because there is no greater enemy to democracy than self centered selfishness.

I can't overlook that if there was criminal negligence at that Waco fertilizer plant, then in the month of April in America, a company was more of a threat to people's lives than Islamists.

I at least take "comfort" in the fact that profit is quantifiable and material, whereas someone's interpretation of what some god wants could be anything. Then again individuals have different interpretations of profit motive, so yeah it's plausible to have a capitalist from the Captain Planet cartoons.

Was this about anything religious or an act against Russia on American soil with the death of Americans as an added plus for the radical Muslim fundamentalists?  (takes breath)  A sort of two birds with one stone so to speak.

I was just pointing out how incredible ignorant of human nature it is to blame religion for what's essentially a divide of culture. There's always going to be us and them. If it's not Jesus vs Allah, it's blacks vs whites, the rich vs the poor, the free vs the tyrants, the Steelers vs the Browns. Religion a symptom of the divide, not the root cause. If it wasn't for Islam, they'd find another dividing line and exploit that to justify the violence.

Humans are like chimps, but not as nice.
