The  Family Research Council thinks we take our cues from and adapt our behavior for radicalized Islamists.  Noted.

I expected it to be either Bryan Fisher Pat Robertson, but this imbecile fits the bill too.

It amuses me that these assholes' views are so close to many Islam fundamentalists' views and they don't even know it

If you really think the manhunt for two or more terrorists is because people are using birth control or not hating gay people enough nowadays, you are, well, a perfectly ordinary conservative deranged.

And deranged.

2013-04-22 02:21:04 PM
Oh please. It's the people who aren't getting laid regularly who are usually the most full of hatred.

It must be so sad to go through life utterly convinced that sex is a sin, and anyone enjoying it should be punished.

Cythraul: He's blaming the gays, isn't he?

It's always the gays.

With as much subverting of Christian morality, condemning people to hell, and destroying the foundations of America as the gays do, I'm surprised they have any time left at all for things like accessorizing and sweet, sweet buttsex.

We're very talented with our time management. You should see our 'gay agenda' sometime.

To make a serious point about this:

Sayyid Qutb is considered universally as the forefather of modern Islamic terrorism in terms of philosophy. He came to America from Egypt as a non-religious man between 1948 to 1950 in order to study in America. One of the things that turned him toward Islam (and specifically extremist Islam preached by the then budding Muslim Brotherhood) was the 'animal-like mingling of the sexes' (his words).

It's also been a very common theme for Muslims to describe America as the land of libertines where there are basically orgies in the street and all women are prostitutes. In fact, the idea that infidel women will have sex at all time, any time goes as far as accusing political women who are leader of non-Muslim countries of sleeping with leaders of Muslim countries then blackmailing them.

It also leads to situation where foreign-looking women are heavily harassed when visiting a lot of Middle-Eastern countries due to the pervasive view that they are all basically prostitutes.

A lot of this fuels a lot of anger toward the West as Islamic extremists accuse America and the West as a whole of trying to turn their own women into prostitutes and this whole idea of 'women's rights' is just a ploy from the West to shame their own women into walking topless in public and giving handjobs like it was saturday night and really wanted some crack.

... so they blow themselves up in order to get 72 virgins.

Tatsuma: To make a serious point about this:

When I visited Egypt, I was chatting with my guide (a Coptic Christian, which meant he had some interesting perspectives). He mentioned that in Egyptian society, you can't date unless you're pretty well engaged. You can't get engaged unless the man has a house for his future bride. Unemployment and housing costs mean this is pretty much beyond the reach of most Egyptians. So you get hordes of angry, frustrated young men with no jobs, no marriage prospects, no chance of establishing themselves in society, and a corrupt secular government that is doing nothing for them.  It's not too surprising that some of them turn to radical Islam as an outlet.

It's funny how much tradition can buttfark people when it precludes the actual activity.

/Except in Catholicism, where both tend to happen.

Exactly.  Guys getting laid regularly generally aren't hanging around thinking of ways to blow people up.

Serious Black: A promising boxer, he fought in the Golden Gloves National Tournament in 2009, and he was noticed by a young photographer, Johannes Hirn, who took him as a subject for an essay assignment in a photojournalism class at Boston University. "There are no values anymore," Tamerlan said in the essay, which was later published in Boston University's magazine The Comment. "People can't control themselves."

Because they are not babies?

It reminds me of the first episode of "community" where Jeff holds up a pencil and says something along the lines of (paraphrasing) "you know this is just a pencil, but if I call it Tim and do this (break in half) you feel upset"

Just because you give something attributes, doesn't mean they possess those attributes. Embryos and fetuses are not babies.

Okay I had to find that clip.  it was awesome (and the pencil's name was Steve, not Tim):  http://youtu.be/iE8meUf0qCM

I would argue that we don't just see the best in others, but the worst in others and not at all in ourselves.

Is he sure it wasn't the Yoga?

A new Mind Fitness Training program being tested in the U.S. military has integrated yoga, breathing classes and meditation alongside other more traditional training regimes to keep soldiers calm and mentally fit and to reduce depression and use of alcohol and drugs. To Perkins, however, this new initiative is a stand-in for one's personal relationship with God.

When he heard about the goals of the program - that yoga promotes relaxation, mental calm, productivity and restraint from substances-he exploded:

"What a coincidence-so does faith! Unfortunately, the military seems intent on driving religion out and replacing it with wacky substitutes," he said on his morning radio program. "They've added atheist chaplains, Wiccan worship centers, and now, meditation classes. But none of them are as effective or as constructive as a personal relationship with God. Unfortunately, though, it's mind over what matters-and that's faith."

On the plus side, American religious conservatives no longer blame everything on the Jews.
