What that Ginger Chick might look like...

She should keep the ginger look.

MadSkillz: Oblivion was a pretty neat film. The right amount of pretty, with a fairly cool soundtrack as well.

Ehh... I was disappointed. Cool concept, bad execution, I thought. And it seemed like pretty much everyone just phoned it in with their acting. The script was rather ham-fisted and cheezy, and they were really in your face about ramping up the drama (e.g. attack is coming, so cut to a kid to show us that we should be scared and worried for these people, now cue the loud dramatic music; there were so many blatant typical audience manipulators like this). Now, I'm not against ramping up the drama and tension; just the way they did it was really...uninspired. Like it was from instructions printed by the Hollywood generic How-To-Make-A-Movie machine.

The effects, however, were gorgeous, and like I said, I liked the concept. It just needed better writing and direction.

I'm not sorry I saw the movie, nor do I feel I wasted time watching it, unlike some movies (*cough*prometheus*cough*). I'm just disappointed, because it could easily have been much better.

Xenu is not Scientology's God; it's their Satan.  So many people get that wrong. =)

fusillade762: I read that as "Xena" at first and wondered what Lucy Lawless had to do with the movie.

Me too, me too...

I'm skipping this one. I'm sick of Hollywood continuing to cram the ungracefully-aging Tom Cruise into movies that should be featuring fresh talent. Can we please put this moldy cheese log out to pasture along with Donald Trump, Madonna, the Smurfs, and all the rest of the 80s most embarrassing relics? Oblivion will do ok in the short term since it's loud, pretty, and has zero competition right now, but think how much bigger it could have been with Avengers alumni like Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans in the lead. You know, guys with actual on-screen charisma? If I'm supposed to care about the main character in a film, my suspension of disbelief shouldn't have to include the actor's presumed likability.

She rocks either hair color but she should definitely keep the dresses that showcase side-boob.

MithrandirBooga: I thought it was fantastic. I'm not sure why anyone had problems with the story, it's a lot better than most recent sci-fi movies. I'd give this a 4.5/5. Way better than Prometheus imo.

Better than Prometheus?  Maybe.  Oblivion is good 101 level scifi.  Promeheus is much more ambitious.

The only thing that's keeping me from going to see Oblivion is the fact that Tom Cruise is in it. Otherwise, it looks like it could be cool.

Sorry, Xenu isn't getting my money. I saw the trailer, meh. The trailer for Jack the giant Killer, and The Lone Ranger looked far more interesting.

Oblivion doesn't look very interesting.  The previews made it out to be a mash up of films I have seen already.

BTW, Xenu is the bad guy in the mythology. Why would he help Tom Cruise with his career? That would be like Satan pulling Jesus off the cross.
