You know what,  I'm rooting for the leafs,  Seeing as the bills haven't been to the playoffs since 99 and they aren't going anytime in the next 10 years, I know what its like.

I'm surprised it's been nine years. It seems like just yesterday they were eliminating the Senators in the first round - AGAIN!

Wow. Last Leafs goalie in a playoff game was Ed Belfour.

/Fun fact: As of April 30, the drought will have officially stood at 3283 days, 469 weeks, and roughly 10 million "This is our year!"s

I think Reimer's been channeling The Eagle most of his last outings.  He looked like a solid number one guy last night for sure. He loves Scotiabank Place too 6 - 0 lifetime. Currently tied in 5th with Lundqvist and Schneider with a .926 save percentage too!

And if the Blue Jackets can somehow win out they very well might find themselves in the playoffs too.

I told people at the beginning of the year I thought they Jackets could win 20 games this season. Everyone told me I was crazy. Well 21 wins later I'm looking like some sort of prophet

Yes, We do it's called The Sprint Center. Thou the NBA's Bucks are the current target

Hope the Blue Jackets get in... Detroit could use a little adversity... The two teams have pretty similar schedules although the Red Wings have to play one more game and they are only one point back.  How did the season series go between them if it come down to tie breakers?

I think the tie breaker will be wins minus shootout wins and the Jackets would lose that tie breaker to both the Wings and Stars.

Well there is 3 groups/persons who might be intrested. First David Glass. Clearly we know why he should not own any other sports team. Second Clark Hunt which is not a good idea. Third and best idea would be the same group that owns SportingKC. They listen to thier fans and respond well. Other people floated as intrested parties include the Stover family

Being a huge JR fan, I've held on to that last goal in 2004 for some time.  Man, Kapanen got destroyed, and I know there is video out there of Primeau screaming at him encouraging him back to the bench, only to have JR, Amonte and Belfour involved at the end... Might be a BlackHawks conspiracy in there somewhere...

Yup, it's Regulation Wins first (Columbus [16] is behind Detroit [18] in that category, and both are behind Dallas [20]).  So Columbus absolutely cannot win the tie-breaker with Dallas since they only have 3 games remaining.  They could, possibly catch up to Detroit in ROW but yet again, they'd need to win-out and have Detroit not win a single one in regulation.

Okay master prognosticator, against whom?

Boston we got 3 of 4 points in the last two games with them
Ottawa 4 of 5 for the season
Montreal 3 of 4 so far this season
Rangers 1 and 1 wining the more recent game
Capitols 2 and 1 for the season
Islanders 2 - 1 for the Islanders
Penguins 2 - 1 for the Pens (1 of the 2 a shoot out loss)
and on the off chance the Jets make it in same as the Pens

It's not like they're sneaking in in 8th. Not a guaranteed sweep. Possibly second round. Nobody's saying any more than that and you three are either stupid or bitter or both.

Yeah, until we know who the Leafs are actually playing, it's difficult to make any prognostications at this point.  I don't think they'll get swept by any means, and they have done well against the teams in their own conference this year.  I will say their lack of playoff experience will probably be the biggest factor, but they definitely have some excellent talent.

Does anyone know when/how tickets go on sale? I was pretty stunned that I manage to get good seats for game 1 in Montreal when they went in sale this morning, so if it's a similar process I'll try to take in a game in Toronto as well - or maybe instead, since depending on when Montreal's first home game is I may have to sell the tickets if I can't get enough time off work to get there.

Nothing on the Leafs page yet.... Although there is a couple of contact numbers for playoff single game suites on the page about the executive suites, best guess would be check back with the Leafs page tomorrow.

I love all the "We're only 4 point out of 2nd" talk, all of which fails to mention that they are also 3 points out of 8th.

Since I'm on the topic of homerism (and feel free to accuse me of it here) but I thought it was hilarious that the Edmonton Sun's beat writer was on the radio in Toronto today and took the time to rip on the Islanders' rebuilding process. Both have been out of the playoffs about the same length of time (actually the Oilers have been longer but thought they were a contender for the first couple years of that), and despite having 3 straight #1 picks, they just fired their GM and are going to miss the playoffs again. New York has points in 14 of their last 15 games and are playoff bound. I guess we'll have to wait and see if NY is "doing it all wrong." I happen to think both teams are going to be exciting in the next 5 or so years.

And before I get crap, I don't mean in this thread. As far as I can tell no one here is saying it. But they were talking about it on the radio today as well as many Leafs fans on both my facebook and twitter. Not one person I saw mentioned the fact that they are actually closer to 8th than 2nd.

Closer yea, but assuming the Leafs don't take the whole Florida trip off, that should be 4 more points, and then on Saturday to rap up the season at home we have the Habs, we have beaten 3 of 4 times so far this year...
Vs. the Islanders with three soft opponent road games, while they are streaking... best you can do is fourth (thanks to the Pens).  best we can do is second.  Both Montreal and Boston have to pretty seriously cramp up for either of those things to happen.  It could happen with Boston, with 5 games left but that also gives them room to lose 2 and not lose any ground to the rest of us, though..

Part of the Islander thing over the last few years has been *ahem* interesting ownership, some unusual management choices, and a festival of bad goaltender choices.  Some of that is hard to look past, especially from a distance.  They looked pretty good up close and on the ice in Toronto the other night...
