I think that can be expected.

no. But season three just started so it's not like you'd have 200 episodes to catch up on.

Actually, George RR Martin did write a fan-fic where Tyrion and Jamie teamed up to fight the Harry Potter kids (wildfire), Chuthulu (he didn't wake up), and Rand Al-Thor (cameo)

It was pretty fun to read.

I don't know that you'd have to watch a lot of previous episodes to be able to watch a show, but it would help you understand all the players / families / kingdoms if you did.

They're just going off on random tangents, it would seem. It's turning into the bad season of Lost, but I continue to hope for some kind of payoffs.

In the real world, a twit like Joffrey would've either killed or exiled Sansa as soon as he was no longer interested in her, and then the entire kingdom would've been calling for his head.  Actually, in the real world, the entire kingdom would've probably been calling for that little farkers head before he was even crowned.

In the books, Joffrey specifically says he's keeping Sansa around so he can sleep with her after he marries Margaery, and a large part of the kingdom is calling for his head, to the point of riots in the streets.

I must've somehow missed that.  I seem to be understanding his portrayal as not being the slightest bit interested in sex, only in pain, though.

Maybe because, and stop me if we're going too fast, Joffery and Sansa are underage.

Do you have any idea how derpy people get about pedophila? Jack Gleeson's real age nonwithstanding, they can't portray a 14 year old boy wantin' to get it on, even though they can show him making whores maim each other.

That's my theory, anyway. In the books, it's just words so you can Gregor Clegaine literally mooshing babies' heads against the wall like avacados and raping their mothers. On TV, not so much. Not to mention no actor wants to be "that guy"

So they've re-written the show a bit vs the books.

There are two seasons and it'll go fast.

I turned my buddy on to GoT.  He cursed me that he was addicted to watching 3-4 episodes a night, staying up until 1-2AM.

I caught up right before season 2 and did about the same - 2-3 episodes a day.
