Apos: I choose to believe that this is the worst track on an album that will recapture the magic of Homework.
Richard Sauce: I honestly never understood anyone not liking Daft Punk.
FeedTheCollapse: I've never really understood the appeal of Daft Punk.
FeedTheCollapse: I recall Homework being not-bad, but everything after (or at least Discovery) sounded like awful pseudo-Anime music.
The My Little Pony Killer: This. Or the assumption that Daft Punk fans don't listen to electronica. That's about all I'll actually listen to lately.
Glitchwerks: FeedTheCollapse: I've never really understood the appeal of Daft Punk.Daft Punk came up with a package of robot costumes, fancy videos, and big lights shows. It's marketable and it sells. There's an endless amount of better producers, but they don't dress up in costumes, don't make videos, and can't afford a big light show when they play live.
Glitchwerks: The My Little Pony Killer: This. Or the assumption that Daft Punk fans don't listen to electronica. That's about all I'll actually listen to lately. To pull an Ishkur move, that you called it "electronica" says you don't actually listen to it.
YodaBlues: Based on how little Spotify pays artists, I'm sure they can't wait to spend that check for $.32.
Jon iz teh kewl: DEPECHE MODE == ELECTRONICA
ReluctantPaladin: Let me guess...They're back to ripping off Kanye again...Good luck with that.
Glitchwerks: Jon iz teh kewl: DEPECHE MODE == ELECTRONICAYou'll dance to anything by Depechka Mode.
PawisBetlog: Any of you questioning Daft Punk's appeal haven't listened to Alive 2007.That is one of the best albums ever by anyone. I agree their studio albums are more of an acquired taste, but this band got famous because of their live shows. To judge them on a single like this is like judging the Grateful Dead based on their studio albums. You can feel free to use that as your only barometer, but you're selling yourself way short if you do.
The My Little Pony Killer: It's funny that you would actually believe that.
Glitchwerks: The My Little Pony Killer: It's funny that you would actually believe that.Feel free to list some of the stuff you listen to.While I was being sarcastic and referring to past Fark arguments, there is some truth to it.There's no such thing as "electronica." It doesn't exist.
fusillade762: If it doesn't exist why is the a Wikipedia entry for it?
Glitchwerks: TL; DR version: Electronica is a term made by record execs. Not the people who created the music. There is no "electronica." It's not a genre, subgenre, or style. It's electronic music. That's it.
AdrienVeidt: It's all electronica and had been for more than 20 years now.
snailbarf: What's with the vocal mix? I think I'm the only one who things it sounds way too raw, with group vocals that are too loud and a little out of tune.
MadSkillz: It was like elevator music Daft Punk. It was like Daft Punk + Jamiroquai
TotallyHeadless: Discovery is one of the best albums by anybody in the last 20 years.
NeoCortex42: With a slight pitch change, it suddenly sounds like it could have easily been on Off the Wall:http://www.avclub.com/articles/someone-pitchshifted-daft-punks-new-s in gle-and-now,96817
