Nope. The golden rule isn't morality.

Consenting adults having consensual sex isn't immoral, even if money's involved. And participating in a "crime" in order to make an arrest is BS.

I thought Americans were big on Freedom, so how come selling sex is illegal? As long as nobody's being forced to do it then it's their personal choice. Is it... something to do with Jesus?

I was in Vegas and a "hooker" propositioned me, I told her I wasn't paying but I have a thing for police women and I'd take her out after her shift.  She just smiled, it was way to obvious.

Sweeping things under the table with laws that make them illegal opens them up to exploitation by unsavory types. If it was legalized, it could be more easily regulated.

Perhaps, but I think you'll have some slavery organizations out there regardless, and they'll need to be destroyed.

We're big on freedom as a theory, not a practice.

Loren: The escort services operate freely but the cops *DO* bust streetwalkers. The latter is a good thing, they catch an awful lot of HIV+ ones.

That alone is the biggest reason to legalize it entirely. When sex is considered a base need and some can't get it without paying, it's ridiculous that they have to spin a roulette wheel just to put their dick in something. Legalize, tax, regulate. And for God's sake regularly test the women. Hell require customers to submit to an STD test.

/paper bags and masturbation only go so far.

Legalizing it would go a long way towards said dismantling.

Cops, stop! Look at yourselves, think about what you are doing.
For what? To stamp out handjobs?

Lou, you are better than this.

......isn't it legal in vegas?

In Las Vegas County, no.  In other counties surrounding Las Vegas County, yes.

From wiki:
Under Nevada state law, any county with a population under 400,000, as of the last decennial census,[15] is allowed to license brothels if it so chooses.[3] Incorporated towns and cities in counties that allow prostitution may regulate the trade further or prohibit it altogether.
Currently eight out of <a data-cke-saved-href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevada" title="Nevada">Nevada's 16 counties have active brothels (these are all rural counties). As of June/July 2008, 28 legal brothels existed in Nevada.[16][17][18]

No such place as Las Vegas county.

Now if you had said Clark county...

Greek: Hmm... this is a tough one. On one hand, one DOES generally strip down for legitimate massage. Even massage therapy- if they're working on your glutes or thigh muscles, etc, you'll need to take it all off. On the other hand, the police do kind of seem to be opening themselves up for all kinds of trouble, especially since there's no visual or audio evidence- the suspect could just say he accepted the offer of sexual services whether he did or not, and it would be a game of he said/ she said.

He could be wearing a microphone disguised as a bluetooth ear piece. People seem pretty attached to those things, so I could imagine one naked and getting a massage with one on. Sometimes, I wonder if they were waterproof would people ever take them off.

Um.. you're supposed to be naked for a legitimate massage anyway.

"It sounds like a lot of fun, but it's a nasty, tough job," said Charlie Fuller, a retired Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent who now runs the International Association of Undercover Officers.

Right, a police officer getting a handjob from a prostitute and then getting his jollies off a second time by arresting her rather than paying her is nasty, tough job.

Notabunny: fta While cops baring all does happen, many officers try to avoid being nude and on duty, in part because there is no place to hide a weapon or a recording device.

How sure are you?
