Meh, if I watch tv in the morning, it's either the previous night's Daily Show or Looney Tunes.

Man, I wish they played Looney Tunes in the morning here. Or any old cartoons. Felix, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Wacky Races, Jetsons, anything...

Sock Ruh Tease: Lionel Mandrake: What was (or was supposed to be) so bad about her?

I think they all hated her because they thought she improved the show with her presence better than any of them could.

Watching Matt Lauer try to run a disinterested, unprepared interview is just painful.  Curry should have replaced him as morning anchor, no question.

I don't mean to be 'that guy' but does anyone really watch morning network television news? Or is it just, at best, background while you're making/drinking coffee, throwing breakfast together, showering, getting ready for work...or catching up on Fark?

She's a serious news reporter. Today is mindless fluff for simpletons. Why the hell was she made co-host in the first place?

She was too hard newsy and not enough jokey-touchy-feeley. She's better off away from there. I saw her a few times with Brian Williams this week and she did fine.

Break the cycle people: watch CBS this morning.  Two reasons:

-Charlie Rose
-John Miller

In short: news for adults, especially in the first hour.

/Ignore Gayle King in the second hour and it still is better than all the other morning shows.

I watch Morning Joe pretty regularly. A morning show dedicated to political process stories!

I wonder if this book will cover Matt's philandering.  A little googling turns up the following rumors:

Natalie Morales - including speculation that Matt's the father of one of her kids.
Jenna Wolfe - yes, I know she's gay, keep in mind they're rumors, though persistent.
Amy Robach - she expected to use her connection with Matt to step up when Curry got fired, and was pissed when it didn't happen, and she jumped to another network.

And others.

Curry did a pretty good job of doing that herself. She could barely read the teleprompter, and that may have been her biggest strength on the show.

HuffPo sure did a nice job of ignoring Curry's flaws that the NYT column listed.

Heh. Lauer isn't just a douche, he's so invested in the program they couldn't sever ties if the network wanted. If the bullying that's written in the book is true I hope those people never get another job. And what is the shame is a lot of those bullies are behind the scenes if the article and book is true. It would be a shame if their brakes quit working or their water heater got up to 300 degrees or stepped on a thorn or something.

Because every time a woman succeeds, a man doesn't, and that's obviously the worst thing that can ever happen.
