Your FFPL report for Round 33

farm9.staticflickr.com

At the top, I slightly extend my narrow lead. Obamartins pulled back slightly by Cognitive_Displaysia, but it remains a horse-puncher 1-2.

At the bottom it was a good week for JuicePats with a nice round hundred, 30/30 slid down 15 and Tom_the_Servo_Bit_Me is back on Page 2, despite a very respectable +80.

Top scorer of the week was StRalphTheLiar, who registered +170 and who's glory is only very slightly tarnished by this being an 11 game round. The chance of a 200+ score was regrettably lost on a poor Sunday. Second highest was TottenhamLukewarmSpur with 160.  Both these latter getting +90s for a 2-0 Everton home win against QPR whereas the 3rd highest score of the week - by ADubs86 - came for a precise 3-1 home win for Arsenal Vs Norwich. A result looking very unlikely for most of the game. Other than 30/30, lowest score was a Zen from The_Envoy, balancing a losing banker perfectly against the rest of the set of predictions.

ADubs climbed 5 slots. The_Envoy fell 4.

Our median player - between Langston and Stimied - is in about 27800th, so above the median for the league. That doesn't account for dead players though. I am 9th of all Toon fans and am biatch-slapping the alleged professionals of TalkSport. Global #1 and #2 support Burnley and Huddersfield respectively.

At the top of this report is the FFPL logo I bodged together in PowerPoint in under 20 minutes. Interested parties should submit logos to these threads between now and the end of the season, and we'll pick one for the 13-14 season. Had one last week - hopefully more to come.

5 games to go!

YOAN GOUFFRAN starts us off, and STEVE SIDWELL gets sent off. Nice opening ten minutes.

Congrats to Cardiff City, winners of the Championship. More Craig Bellamy in the Premier League is always a good thing.

Fulham already down to 10 men against Arsenal after Sidwell commits a two-footed challenge on Arteta.  It was Sidwell's first game back after a three-match ban, too, I believe.

That could be him for the season.

I think you're right

Gingers, always starting trouble.

MATT JARVIS gets a cross in that somehow goes in because everyone missed.

I really, really, really need an Arsenal win today

Ramsey is wasteful again

StRalphTheLiar: Ramsey is wasteful again

Gah! Please tell me Gervinho's on the bench. We can't afford the two of them on the same pitch at the same time

HaywoodJablonski: I really, really, really need an Arsenal win today

Arsenal absolutely cannot afford to lose this. They might, though, they're playing kickball out there at the moment. Very little pace, no edge. Walcott looks awful and GIROUD is missing something.

2013-04-20 10:42:52 AM
Theo is awful right now.

0-1, but no idea who scored

He could play a bit better, too.

MERTESACKER heads in a much-needed goal. Hopefully this breaks open the game.

BFG

Thanks. I'm watching England football's version of RedZone, which a) is on mute and b) can't show any footage. It's strangely addictive

Stoke leading at Loftus Road and Newcastle leading at The Hawthorns? Not expecting that.

2013-04-20 10:50:11 AM
Ok pressure's off. I hedged my £50 Arsenal bet with a Fulham/draw bet. No matter what happens now, I'm a wiener

I'd like to think the typo was deliberate.

Yep.

It's like Arsenal is running a Princeton offense. Pass the ball around the perimeter, run the clock down, and when the defense falls asleep look for the cutter. No urgency.

2013-04-20 11:09:05 AM
Ryann Bennett puts it in after a save.

Norwich 1 Reading 0

2013-04-20 11:10:06 AM
and now the other Bennett gets in on the act

Norwich 2 Reading 0

2013-04-20 11:11:59 AM
Sunderland leading Everton, too.

2013-04-20 11:13:41 AM
Nice series of saves from McCarthy, just couldn't get it clear enough to beat the rebounds.

2013-04-20 11:16:11 AM
Oh hell, I don't remember putting my banker on Everton, but apparently I did.

mitchcumstein1: Oh hell, I don't remember putting my banker on Everton, but apparently I did.

I somehow managed to put my banker on Stoke winning 1-0.

Insurance on Arsenal (of course!)

But what you really want to know is "How are the MIGHTY Oxford United doing today?"

I'm glad you asked. They are up 1-0 over Rochdale after 61 minutes. Hopefully they can hold on for a win in front of the Kassam Stadium faithful. Sadly, they're only playing for pride after a poor run in February made the play offs a pipe dream.

2013-04-20 11:33:22 AM
So hung over but it was worth it! I'm about to go to record store day and pick up a bunch of vinyl, hopefully the albums I want aren't gone yet. Any games worth watching later? I'm pretty sure DC United play tomorrow and will be absolutely pathetic as they have been all season.

2013-04-20 11:36:12 AM
Would be equalizer offside for Fulham

2013-04-20 11:37:21 AM
Jesus f*cking Christ. Arsenal is going to f*ck around and drop 2 points.

2013-04-20 11:37:30 AM

mitchcumstein1: Oh hell, I don't remember putting my banker on Everton, but apparently I did.

Same here. Well that banker's wasted.

2013-04-20 11:38:03 AM
Arsenal are bound and determined to let Fulham back in the game. Jesus.

2013-04-20 11:40:01 AM
Arsenal's biggest threat since half time has been Wenger running in front of the goal.

2013-04-20 11:46:21 AM
And Fulham  refresh their tired legs with...their second-leading scorer behind Berbatov. Jol is going for the farking win here.  This will be an interesting few final minutes.

2013-04-20 11:48:45 AM
That's a red?

2013-04-20 11:49:28 AM
SHIAT straight red for Giroud after a poor challenge. Squeaky bum time, and Fulham with allllll the momentum.

2013-04-20 11:50:26 AM
Get ready for the Gervinho show with Giroud out

2013-04-20 11:51:46 AM
The MIGHTY Oxford United double their lead.

2013-04-20 11:52:59 AM
Game. Jesus that was scary.

2013-04-20 11:53:21 AM
Arsenal BARELY escapes after 80 minutes with a man advantage.

2013-04-20 11:53:21 AM
That was uninspiring.

2013-04-20 11:54:32 AM
And Everton shiat the bed and waste my banker. Thanks Everton.

2013-04-20 11:55:35 AM
Wow i thought sacking O'Neil and getting in Di Canio was a stupid idea.

Good job i don't run a football club.

What was Wenger thinking, sending Walcott on that early?

2013-04-20 11:57:30 AM
Think I'm at +25 for the day. Hopefully that isn't horrible. I still have my baker and insurance on other games.

2013-04-20 11:57:49 AM
Hmm. I'll take a real point seeing as Wigan lost, but its looking bad in FFPL.

It could be ugly.
