Satanic_Hamster: Who the fark is Bonnie Hammer and what is Siffy and why should I give a rat's ass?
xria: Given that the Doctor recognized her immediately and there is now (historically) no place/time for her, I wonder if she might be added as a companion, and hence more of her story can be added as we go along./maybe the next week preview thing ruled it out somehow, but I always avoid watching those
ActionJoe: I thought this was a much better episode than the previous ones. I also liked Clara's reaction to going to traveling through the entire history of Earth. It was a nice touch to that is normally forgotten when companions get used to traveling. She still isn't used to it so seeing the Earth from birth to death would be a bit creepy. I was a bit irked that she seemed ok with the Doctor saying she was the greatest mystery. Umm, wouldn't you want to hear some clarification on that? This was also right after the empath girl told her not to trust the Doctor. Seemed like it could have been developed a bit more.
cptjeff: Mentat: Haven't watched it and I don't think I'll be able to. I can usually suspend my disbelief, but every once in a while a show does something that's just impossible to ignore and in Defiance it's the break in the Arch. A catenary arch works by compressing the legs against the center piece thereby passing the force down through the legs to the foundation. If any piece is missing, the entire structure collapses in on itself instantly.I had the same reaction. They had a biatch of a time putting the thing up for exactly that reason- if the structure was weakened significantly, much less broken entirely, it would collapse immediately. It's just so completely and obviously wrong, and it reveals that the people running the show have no attention to detail whatsoever, and that they're not even going to try making the sets, characters, or plots even remotely plausible.
MadSkillz: Even Jesus Doctor 10 was better than that.
FirstNationalBastard: t3knomanser: Flint Ironstag: so BBCA has to be self financingSpeaking of BBCA, has anybody else been catching "Orphan Black"? It's been showing some promise.Y'know, I just don't trust shows from BBC America yet, considering how they've traditionally treated Doctor Who.Plus, it's BBC America. Whenever America sticks their nose into BBC shows, bad things happen.[sciencefiction.com image 570x300]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L4dJ8n64HE

Nefarious: Yes, there is potential there, I'm enjoying it so far.
FirstNationalBastard: technomuse: Satanic_Hamster: Who the fark is Bonnie Hammer and what is Siffy and why should I give a rat's ass?Bonnie Hammer is the reason The SciFi Channel became SyFy and started showing Wrestling and really bad disaster movies.Of course BBCA shows Dr. Who, ST:TNG, and Battlestar Galactica, so that's at least 3x as much SF as SyFy.However, it is much less BBC than they should be showing.
FirstNationalBastard: it seems that most people really don't like the whole "Love conquers all" thing that's been running through the Moffat years.

unlikely: Is Clara an actual character yet or is she still just a macguffin?
