It is a decent enough headline, but its not worth the attention it has been getting. I know the song, too, and given enough time nearly anybody could come up with something that fits.

In Aghory, County Armagh, people opened up their home at Christmas time, inviting people in to raise money for charity. The Gazette headline? Ag-ho-ho-ho-ry!:

I once shot a photo of a fireman hauling a piece of a smoldering sofa out of a house. I captioned it 'hunka-hunka burning love seat' but we had an unwritten policy against puns in hard news photos, and the substitute M.E. wouldn't overlook it. So it never ran. I'm still a little bitter. A good headline can attract readers to an barely newsworthy item.

2013-04-20 01:04:32 AM
But here is the issue. If that headline was actually submitted to Fark it would have gotten redlight. Guaranteed. No doubts. In fact, subby didn't even bother stealing the funny part of the headline but the lamest part because he wanted the green.  So that is a golf-clap for him. But it takes a lot of chutzpah for the modmins to link to a headline they would never greenlight themselves.

Wayne 985: One of Queen's lesser songs, but really, really catchy.

Overplayed, perhaps, but hardly one of the lesser.

I'll tell you this: seeing the BohRap film clip on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in '77 was practically life-changing for one young naif.

Pointy Tail of Satan: Interesting side note: guitarist Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics.

He paused his doctoral studies in the '70s to focus on his work with Queen. I don't want readers to think he's a rock star who bought his fancy capitol letters.

Yeah, I thought that was a natural fit, I'm surprised they didn't work it in. Totally cool headline, guy should get a raise, especially if he can come up with these that easy. Headlines can make or break a story.

Since I just happen to have the 3rd Queen box set sitting near, the lyrics are

One dream, one soul, one prize, one goal, one golden glance of what should be.

So, you were close.

You probably got the "one hope" part from One Vision, which is logically mixed up with A Kind Of Magic, since both songs began life as one song called "A Kind Of Vision".

Still find it funny that such a good song came from a line that didn't make it into the film.

Back when CB lingo was hot and state troopers were Smokeys (because of their hats) I had to caption a picture of a trooper's car that had gone off the road, hit a highway sign and had the sign land on its roof. The bosses wouldn't let me caption it "On Top Of Old Smokey."

Booger.....

Alright.

Freddie was in his 20s when he wrote this. In the fine tradition of young Brit rockers penning outstanding pieces, like Jagger with SFTD.

I helped someone write a song for a revue he was involved in when he was in business school. If I recall it began:

The Ulster Gazette's deputy editor Richard Burden is the man responsible for that outstanding bit of glam rock pastiche.

If his stiff little fingers keep pounding out headlines like that, people will be looking for an alternative Ulster.
