They have a "target location" they are setting a perimeter and have teams ready to take down the vehicle if occupants of the location try to enter the vehicle.  The vehicle they're watching is a Honda CRV.

Perhaps its time to admit that a certain culture and religion has a problem, and is not capable of coexisting with western civilization?

Statistically speaking, since this ordeal began, there's been several hundred murders carried out by Christians in the United States.

Western civilization has a hard time coexisting with itself most of the time.

When Gandhi was asked what he thought about Western Civilization, he replied, "I think it would be a pretty good idea."

Either the worst transcript ever, or there are Iraqis and Hutus involved.

http://abcnews.go.com/WNN/video/gun-battle-leaves-boston-marathon-bo mb ing-suspect-dead-18995409

Continue our breaking news this morning a wild scene coming out of the Boston area specifically. Watertown. Where a suspect is dead the manhunt for a second suspect continues.

And this. According to local police is connected to the Boston Marathon bombings we are getting some confirmation of that we want to go right -- our correspondent Brian Ross has been on the scene throughout the and the morning without collecting as much information as possible Brian thank you for joining us once again what's the very latest. The very latest is a terrorist is at large that's how the police here -- view it.

He is the man who was identified yesterday by the FBI -- suspect number two in the marathon bombings. He and his partner suspect number 1 began the evening apparently -- an attempted stick up -- a 7-Eleven. Store in Cambridge.

They then went on to MIT where they got enough gun battle with the MIT police and killed an Iraqi police officer. That led to -- wild chased by car. From Cambridge into neighboring Watertown.

More gunfire here at that point that suspect number warm. But by the FBI. -- shot the suspect the Hutus fled to at this point.

I suspect number two is that large they believe he is dangerous and -- -- Residents of this town had been told to stay inside. Do not answer the door for anybody. Other than someone who -- identified as a police officer.

The people along the -- of the chase described the gunfire and bombs going off into the night. Grenades being thrown at -- suspect number two remains at large is a huge police presence here that people looking for him. He's hiding under the cover of darkness.

The sun comes up and about a dollar -- probably -- the -- But at the moment remains -- very tense situation here with a man who would they believe -- murder -- will Kate. Clearly Brian had not only worried about catching this second suspect they're also worried about potential explosives that he may or may not have planted a long way is that correct. It.

That's absolutely correct one of our producers. Was told that be careful there are explosives. Everywhere -- We -- told -- one point not to use cellphones for fear they might trigger an explosion Plaxo these are people they suspect.

Have skills in building bombs and had lots of other bombs apparently. And they and one of the questions I think that is raised is based on the application of these two men -- suspects wanted to. From the marathon on the injuries I think many of us are surprised that they were still in this area they had not taken off at all and the additional information we have is that they had -- car video loaded who is an explosives were which suggests perhaps they had not finished whenever there.

-- -- Brian -- clearly. Magazine individuals who wanted to cause a lot of harm just going back to -- asked police where we're telling us about what they did just on this -- story alone. A robbery a carjacking Monday shot and killed a the -- and an MIT police officer there's another.

Transit police officer who was struck and is now in critical condition at the hospital. And the concern is for the residents also they -- want to make sure that everybody stays inside and everybody. Eight is vigilant because until the sun comes up there's no telling where this this man is right now it is there any development on.

And as far as how police are going to keep -- area safe is it still just the door to door have you heard any updates on that. It is -- -- -- phone calls are being made dad Brandon who residence they call reverse 911 calls high and they have an area where they think he may be and they tried to square that off. But was darkness that is an ally for someone trying to hide for a -- That is the concern while it's it's probably about a mile down the road from -- from where I'm standing right now -- where this is taking place.

But it's a very tense situation there they have no doubt that this person is prepared to kill again. -- yeah we saw his car behind you Brian speeding. Behind you so.

2013-04-19 03:06:18 PM
Am I the only one questioning why they let the car jacking victim and convenience store ppl go unharmed? If their goal is to kill as many as possible that seems odd to me. I almost think they had a specific target with those bombs.

Some Bass Playing Guy: Coco LaFemme: NOLA_farkette: The worst part is, he's just a kid.

He's an adult. He's a big boy, doing grown up things, and if he's captured alive, he'll pay for them like a grown up would.  There's nothing "kid-like" about anything this piece of shiat has done all week.

I agree,

But I suspect if we ever find out why they did it, we're going to find out that the younger brother idolized the older brother and was easily duped into being an accomplice.  None of this mitigates the the younger brother responsibility, of course. He's needs to bear the full force of the law if he's captured alive.

Still saying that if it's follie a deux, and the kid was just taken in by the older one, the younger one's going to come to a hell of a realization if he lives long enough - usually once separated the one taken in goes back to normal, and then he's in a world of hurt. In that position, I'm not sure I'd prefer not making it through alive myself.

fireclown: serpent_sky: I felt bad, I woke my boyfriend up laughing when Sgt. Fury appeared last night. I probably also should have felt bad for laughing at the name, but it was hard not to.

Well, the name on the badge said Greasmanelli.

Good times.  Had a 1st period teacher in high school who, after the morning announcements, would go into a closet and flip a switch so we could listen to Grease over the PA speakers the rest of the period.

2013-04-19 03:06:31 PM

Tatsuma: mrshowrules: See the FLQ crisis in Quebec in 1970 for an example of what martial law can look like. Holding people in jail without charges is a good litmus test.

Yeah I don't think a 40 year old example that happened in another country is irrelevant at all.

I've been to Boston and other parts of the US.  Boston didn't feel like visiting a foreign country to me.  Calgary on the other hand.

Young students blowing up bombs, the FLQ crisis (in terms of martial law), might be as apt as anything else.

2013-04-19 03:06:32 PM

Tatsuma: Tom_Slick: They were searching flights from Boston to Atlanta this morning, so I guess they are taking no chances and probably alerting in every community as time passes.

We know they had plane tickets for Russia leaving in a couple of days

If that's true, why did they wait so long? Why not leave the country hours after it happened before the authorities know it's you?

Of course, I might have the answer to that as well. They wanted to bask in what they did, soak up the terror, panic, anguish of Boston. They wanted to walk the streets knowing that they are the ones who did this to Boston, they are the ones everyone is talking about, with the smug attitude that no one knows they did it. They are psychopaths who get off on the misery they inflict, and they thought they were smarter than everyone else. They probably figured that no one would figure it out, if ever, until they were long gone.

I've been watching Hannibal, which is my favorite new show, and that's exactly what Lector is doing. He enjoys watching people talk about his work, and he basks in the knowledge that they don't know it's him.

2013-04-19 03:06:40 PM

Shyla: Nabb1: pedobearapproved: Anderson Cooper just asked if the guy smoked or drank in highschool...because those are obviously what caused this.

More likely because alcohol and tobacco consumption are forbidden in Islam, and if he is some sort of Muslim extremist, then drinking and smoking a few years ago would indicate that fundamentalism is a recent thing for him.

One of his "friends" was interviewed early this morning and spoke about how "normal" he was and included "he smoked a little weed now and then...." so probably just verifying previous info.

I heard that, too.  I had a Muslim roommate years ago, and he drank, smoked cigarettes and occasionally weed.  But he also observed fasting during Ramadan, so I would fry up bacon in the morning after nights of heavy drinking during that month, and he would call me a S.O.B. and then eat steak in front of me on Friday during Lent.  Good times, good times.

My fact-free speculative theory du jour: What if the older brother, who was an accomplished amateur boxer, was actually suffering from CTE like Junior Seau, Dave Duerson, and others. Seau certainly showed bizarre, uncharacteristically violent behavior before committing suicide. Maybe this whole episode was sparked by traumatic brain injury from boxing. The older brother snaps, co-opts the younger brother, and this is the result.
