A couple people have pointed out that this is a repeat from over a year ago, but we let it run again for those of you who hadn't seen it the first time.

Cool that shows when the Bay Bridge was two way traffic on the upper deck. Lower deck was rail & trucks.

/The famous scene in the Graduate where Ben is driving to Berkley on the upper deck  isn't an error for you film buffs.

It is an error. Per the story line, he's driving into San Francisco, but the film shows him headed east on 80 (leaving San Francisco).

Original Subby here; I don't know how often Mods post a "repeat," but I'm grateful.

Coincidentally, 1955 is also the last time you could possibly afford to live in, or anywhere near, San Francisco.

It's a bit eerie for me to imagine San Francisco 1955. That was when my parents vacationed in SF from Michigan when my mother was pregnant with me. So I had never been to SF as a human before I moved here in 1983. But was here as a fetus. Makes me imagine if I had psychic communication as a fetus with my mother when she and my dad visited SF. They stayed at the Fairmont, shown a few times on the video.

The population in San Fran is now at 805,000. Not that much of a novelty, unless you consider a population growth of 30k over 58 years to be remarkable.
