Tonya McGraw said that the Hart's actions were "crazy," but that they might lead to more emphasis being placed on customer service.

"Next time they better get them wings right," she said

Stupid article.  Now I'm hungry for wings.

Pulling an AK-47 over crappy wings? Maybe if it was a sack of chicken hearts, gizzards and livers. I'd be back up there with an M2 Flamethrower if they left those out.

There is no viable wing place near my house. It got better, with a BW3 now 20 minutes away, but goddammit, that's not close enough.

Look maybe he just forgot he was carrying an AK-47? I mean it happens all the time to Brave Patriots who accidentally carry concealed into post offices or other federal buildings.

Or they got quotes from telling the story to random people on the street until something amusing was said.

Antonius Hart Sr. and Antonius Hart Jr. left Pirtle's Chicken without realizing that their wings were missing. They then drove back to the restaurant and demanded extra chicken because they had been forced to make a return trip.

>Pete Helmes: The Marxists are denying the people of Latin America their right to eat Mr. Chicken. And, they're denying Mr. Chicken his human right to franchise and make a profit.
>Scott Dantley: Well, I sure as hell don't want some made-in-Moscow Mr. Cabbage Roll shoved down my throat against my will.
>Bob Nixon: Absolutely. Those peasants deserve the dignity and human right to eat Mr. Chicken when and where they please.
>Pete Helmes: And Jack, when that right is threatened in the Western Hemisphere, it becomes a national security issue for the United States of America. We're talking of the very survival of the entire concept of internationally franchised chicken, Jack! You've got work to do.

FTFA: "pointed an AK-47 at a cashier"

I seriously doubt someone pulled a Class-III firearm out to threaten a chicken joint minimum wage worker. Most people who can afford an AK47 probably wouldn't be found A) carrying it around in their car for no good reason and B) at some ghetto chicken joint in Memphis.

Now, if the article said WASR-10 or whatever, I'd be fine with it.

Quality chicken wings, or the lack thereof, can be a big issue in some areas.

2013-04-19 12:48:28 PM
An AK-47 seems like a bit of an overreaction. Wouldn't a simple pistol have been equally effective?

Sometimes, you just need wings.

I still say that these rediculous gun control measures just punish law abiding citizens and don't actually affect criminals.

You's be surprised by how many Father-Son teams drive around Memphis with actual AK-47 on them.

How the hell does one 'pull out' an AK? They're pretty big, it's not like you can stick it in your pocket or down your pants. Only way I could see that is to have it slung over a shoulder and a trench coat over it...

Could be an AK variant "pistol" (short barrel, no stock at all)  or a top or under-folder, it could be hidden under a trench coat, but I doubt it that was the case.

Even the AK74SU is too big to really "pull out" in the sense you're talking about. My guess is that the journalist forgot to look in his thesaurus for the word "brandish."

They still make them new (probably not quite the same design though; I'm not an expert). One of my friends bought one last year. He's not looking forward to the NY stupid law where he's supposed to register it...

Why isn't this thread about our favorite places for chicken wings?

It's lunch time, people. Talk about delicious wings, and where to find them. (Like, for example, the teriayaki-hot wings at Old Town Pub in Geneva, IL.)
