skozlaw: iPod Touch v312

Can we stop pretending that Apple has actually released a new product since 2007? It's impressive that they've managed to leverage one product of varying sizes into a successful company, but c'mon.

Don't be a dick. They're a market leader with a few products that consumers seem to enjoy. Deal with it.

rpm: FTFA: one of the key reasons the iPad 3 and 4 didn't meet sales expectations was because they were heavier and thicker than the iPad 2.

Or, I don't know, maybe the market is reaching saturation and the vast majority don't need more powerful tablets for how they use it?

Pretty much.  I've got an old IPad 2, the one with the 30pin connector.  It does everything I'd want a slate to do.  I might be in the market for another when it dies sure but why would I junk a working machine that does what I need it to?

And even then I'm not heavily invested in the iOS ecosystem so I may well not get the iPad x when I do want a new one.
